Happy Easter!

@Corrine the bread on that image looks like 'Paska'? When I was still working in a kitchen we had an European Easter brunch and a Hightea with such kind of Scones, Paska's, Sandwhiches and more. And I still remember that the Paska's were highly decorative which only a good baker can make. Love it!

Indeed, @Maxstar, it is Paska, a Ukrainian Easter tradition. This is the recipe I got from my mother-in-law who was born in Ukraine (as was my husband):

Ingredients
2 cakes yeast
2 1/2 c. lukewarm milk
10 1/2 c. flour
6 eggs
1 1/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. orange juice
Grated rind of 1 orange
1 tbsp. vanilla
1 tsp. salt
3/4 c. melted butter
2 c. raisins

Instructions:
Crumble yeast into milk. Stir in 3 cups flour. Mix well. Cover. Let rise 2 hours.
Beat 5 egg yolks with sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat 5 egg whites separately. Add yolks and whites to first mixture plus
orange juice, vanilla, salt, remainder of flour, butter, and rind. Add raisins.
Knead until bubbles form and pop - dough is smooth and elastic (about 15 minutes).
Place in greased bowl. Let rise 2 hours.
Punch dough down. Let rise again.
Punch dough again. Fill greased pans 1/3 to 1/2 full.
Let rise 1 1/2 hours.

Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. Mix 1 egg and 1 tablespoon water. Baste bread last 2 minutes of baking time.

Note: Coffee cans make good baking pans. You can have extras for giving to other people.
Designs such as crosses or trims may be made from small scraps of dough and placed on top with a dab of water before baking.

1 tbsp. vanilla
Thanks, I don't have vanilla powder or vanilla extract in a bottle, I always use always vanilla sticks like in the video below, and the scrubbed out vanilla sticks I'm putting in a old wake-up jar with sugar. The video below is in Dutch sorry, and perhaps the roses are not a coincidence in this...;)

Happy Easter to every one.

@Maxstar , is the image in your first post intentional ?. The image "Upgrade to Premium" looks like a link mismatch.

@PeterJ That's strange, the image was uloaded to 'postimages.org' and the image was working here, but I've changed that link and attached the file.
