Everything old is new again!
FORTRAN was the very first programming language I learned. Pascal was the second and COBOL the third.
But after the transition to C as language number four, there was no turning back. It's no shock to me that it remains at or near the very top. (I am not in the thrall of object-oriented programming languages as many are.)

God, I only wish this was true of ourselves. (physically)

I'm surprised to see TypeScript so low on the list, then again, Javascript has come a long way and in some ways TypeScript is pretty pointless unless you want strong types.
