Good day forum I need your intelligence on this problem with installing foxit pdf reader event 1000 faulting module kernel 32.dll tryacquire srwlock exclusive . I have tried many fixes but to not avail. Sfc /scnnow is all good chkdsk is all good no malware or viruses I saw a couple of fixes on the web but I lack the know how to carry the task through. I am on my windows vista 64 bit because my printer is connected to this machine , if anyone knows how to overcome this problem please come along and help a feller out, I like the foxit reader pdf product and it would be a great addition to my computer software and my work thanks for your help team.

If you scroll down to the near bottom of this page and click on System Requirements, you will see that Vista is not supported. If uninstalling Foxit reader, rebooting, then installing Foxit again does not resolve your problem, then I would assume Vista is your problem.

You might try Sumatra PDF. It is another very capable and well liked alternative pdf viewer and according to its system requirements, does still work with Vista.

Are you trying to install a new version for the first time or update an existing version. Also is this the free version or a paid version. It looks like the latest versions do not support Vista so you will have to download and install and older version. Try installing the one from the following link:

Foxit Reader 9.3 | Software Downloads | Techworld

Thanks guys for your swift reply and Digerati see I do see that vista is not supported on the some sites but on others the foxit reader 9.3 vista 64 is supported that why this is so confusing. Dmccoy thanks for your input as well the download you recommend says that it support vista 64 bit but avast my anti virus block the download for virus threats. This is the first time installing foxit and I have tried to install the older version but I received the same error the procedure entry point could not be located in the dynamic link library kernel32 .dll . The amazing part about this issue is my vista is updated with the current updates because I found on the internet windows 2008 update repository greenhillmaniac which allows vista users to update their windows vista to the year 2020. I will try the older versions again and I will report the results. Thanks again for your concerted input I know that with your help the next move will be the correct one.

Just founded a site to download an older version and it installed with no problem now I must run my anti virus to make sure that there is nothing else like malware WAS downloaded with the software . Called this solved you guys are the greatest .
