Hello

I have a problem when I try to install iis on my server

It is a windows 2008 r2 standard sp1, when it tries to install the role, when it finishes, it gives an "error 0x80070490. The element was not found"

I have done all the steps to fix Windows Update and I can't find the solution, SFC and SURT/DSIM does not give any error, and it doesn't give any SFCFix error either.

Any idea?

Hi Welcome to Sysnative,

Lets see if this helps...

Install Update using Dism
  1. Please download KB4524157 save the file to c:\windows\temp
  2. change the name of the update file to a smaller name Windows6.1-KB4524157-x64.msu
(keep the extension .msu in the end of the file name in case its visible if not ignore that)
  3. open the Command Prompt as Administrator (Tutorial)
  4. type or Copy & Paste the following commands line by line:

    cd /d c:\windows\temp
    expand Windows6.1-KB4524157-x64.msu -f:* C:\windows\temp
    DISM.exe /Online /Add-Package /PackagePath:C:\windows\temp\Windows6.1-KB4524157-x64.cab

  5. You should receive the message:
    The operation completed successfully.
Restart Windows to complete this operation.
Do you want to restart the computer now (Y/N)?
  6. Make sure to allow the computer to restart if prompted.

If you receive any other message:
  7. Right-click on the Command Prompt window and click Select All, this will invert all of the colors by selecting the text, now press enter. All of this text is now copied.
  8. Paste (Ctrl+V) it into your next post please.

Note: If DISM fails please attach the CBS.log

Thanks for the reply

When I try to execute the second command I have an opening error, I have tried to download it from your link, from the direct link.

I rename and keep extension file, is the same, also i unlock file (right button, unlock)

If I press the double left button, the installation will start

Hi,

is the file Windows6.1-KB4524157-x64.msu on the c:\windows\temp folder?

dir c:\windows\temp\*.msu

This works!

I executed all the processes and IIS was installed without problem, thank you very much for everything
