[SOLVED] Error: 0x800f0906 installing Windows Defender on Server 2016

Hello All,

I have a Windows Server 2016 box where i am getting the error below when trying to install Windows Defender.
I have tried dism/online/cleanup-image/restorehealth, sfc/scannow, reboots, selecting the windows iso as alternative source with no luck.

Dism /Online /Enable-Feature /FeatureName:Windows-Defender
Error: 0x800f0906
The source files could not be downloaded.
Use the "source" option to specify the location of the files that are required to restore the feature. For more information on specifying a source location, see Configure a Windows Repair Source.
The DISM log file can be found at C:\Windows\Logs\DISM\dism.log

I have attached the components scanner and cbs output for any assistance or guidance on resolving the problem.

Hi,

Upload a copy of the CBS folder

• Open Windows Explorer and browse to the C:\Windows\Logs folder.
• Right-click on the CBS folder and choose Send to > Compressed (zipped) folder.
• Now the message will appear, "Windows cannot create the Compressed (zipped) Folder here. Do you want it to be placed on the desktop instead?"
• Click on the Yes button here.

• Attach the file CBS.zip to your next reply. If the file is too large to attach, upload the CBS.zip file to www.wetransfer.com and post the link in your next reply.
