Error 0x80071160 updating Windows 10 1909 - KB4497165 and KB4560960.

Hi

As the title suggests, I'm struggling to update my Windows 10 1909. I have two updates sitting in the Windows Update window but both error with the same code when trying to install.

When trying to run SFCFix, the program stalls at the attached screen. I left this overnight (about 7 hours) but it didn't move any further.

CBS also attached.

All help greatly appreciated.

Hi!

Step#1 - Capture Process Monitor Trace
1. Download and run Process Monitor. Leave this running while you perform the next steps.
2. Try updating the system just like you have in the past.
3. Stop Process Monitor as soon as it fails. You can simply do this by clicking the magnifying glass on the toolbar as shown below.

4. Select the File menu...Save... and save the file to your desktop. This is likely the default location. The name (unless changed) will be LogFile.PML. This is fine.
5. Zip up and provide the link to the LogFile.PML file as well as your CBS.log Examples of services to upload to are Dropbox or OneDrive or SendSpace.

Thanks so much for getting back to me. As it happens I just last night did an in-place upgrade using the Windows 10 Download Tool. (I read about extended response times here and chatted to a local techy near me).

looks like the OS is all up to date now and functioning correctly.

I do appreciate your response though.
