So I have a Windows 10 Pro Home Edition computer (32 gigs ram, intel processor, MSI motherboard and RTX graphics card), and I'm running into a bit of trouble, and having multiple issues that I encounter when trying to solve other issues. I started just getting error 0x8007012f when trying to update, but after running sfc and a disc restorehealth command, it started giving me 0x8000ffff instead. This has been going on for a few months now.
I'm getting these update errors, so it was suggested that I attempt to solve them by restarting into safe mode with networking and then updating - but networking doesn't work on safe mode with networking.
I have malwarebytes, but I haven't been able to find any malware with it that might cause this. My drivers are up to date (well, mostly- nothing is updating through windows update because of the errors), I don't think that caused the lack of internet.
Anyway, it was also recommended to run system file checker, so I did, and it said there were corrupted files it couldn't fix, but I couldn't figure out which from the log file (I've looked on forums to attempt to understand these but it hasn't helped).
The next step is to use that classic restorehealth... only when it does, it only goes up to 83%, then says it's all finished. Shockingly, this doesn't fix windows update.
I have thought about downloading windows onto a flash drive and installing from there, but I know that will probably mess some stuff up.
Is this worth it to try to fix? I've been trying for months now and it just seems like every time I come across another solution, it shows me something else that's wrong with the computer. I've spent quite a while setting this up and I would really like to not have to reset it. Any help at all is appreciated.
