DISM error 0x800f0906

Hi all,

due to some BSOD I've had during the last days, I've tried to execute a DISM on my Asus pc, Windows 8.1 64bit, using the command:

dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

but I obtain the error "0x800f0906 - The source files could not be downloaded", all results attached in "dism.zip" file (part of "C:\Windows\Logs\DISM\dism.log").

So I've tried the following:

1. chkdsk: no errors found;

2. sfc /scannow: errors found, results attached in "sfc.zip" file (part of "C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\cbs.log");

3. sfcfix: results attached in "SFCFix.zip" file;

You can see "sfcfix" seems to perform a repair ("FIXED: Performed DISM repair on file Amd64\CNBJ2530.DPB of version 6.3.9600.17415.") but if I launch it more times, I obtain always the same log, so I think the fix cannot be really performed for some reason I don't know.

I'd be grateful for any suggestion about other things I could try.

Hi Dario,

Please execute the following:

DISM scan

• Please open up a Command Prompt Window as a Administrator, instructions for Windows 8.x.
• Inside the command prompt window type or Copy & Paste the following command:
  Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
  
  Note: This may take some time to finish. Let me know if the process reaches 100% or not and any error reported
• Locate the log c:\Windows\logs\cbs\CBS.log copy the file to the Desktop, Zip it and attach to your post.
