Re: completely stumped, directX and Nvidia drivers causing high DPC?
just wanted to give a quick update as I think Ive finally got this solved:
though the speakers helped with the crackle it did not solve the issue entirely. More importantly (and more frustrating), the audio delay seemed to be getting worse with time and intermittent BIOS post issues (62 and 96) were beginning to occur more frequently. While gaming, there would frequently be issues w/ random temporary (1-10second) screen blackouts and freezes. I ended up doing a windows "fresh start" / clean win10 installation which unfortunately didnt help.
At wits end, I cleared CMOS, reseated my GPU and RAM. I then went into BIOS settings and booted through the integrated mobo graphics (with a spare hdmi into my mobo), disabled the onboard graphics driver in the device manager, rebooted and changed BIOS settings to boot through GPU, and voila... (temporarily) fixed. I realize this will revert and I will have to re-disable the onboard graphics when windows updates, but thus far the issue seems to be fixed.... no audio delay, no crackling or post-code errors, and most importantly no screen blackouts or freezes
not sure if the problem was improper seating, CMOS, some conflict between the integrated graphics and GPU, or a combo thereof, but anyone experiencing audio crackle, delay, or GPU driven issues might find this potentially helpful
