My PC crashed during Window update some days ago and after restart it became unstable and a number of programmes ceased to run.
I run sfc /scannow and could not fixed all corrupted files.
I run also sfcfix and again not all the corrupted files could be repaired.
I managed to get some of the programs work by uninstalling and re-installing again but there are still some that would not run properly or that I cannot even uninstall.
Ocassionally error messages pop up indicating "Incorrect Image" or "this application can not be started" for some .exe and .dll files.
PC is operational but I fear it may crash again at any point if system is partially corrupted.
Unfortunately I do not have any Sytem recovery CD/DVD for Win7.
I am running Win7 x64 Professional 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Compilation 7601.

Please find the DropBox link to CBS.zip file: CBS.zip

I also copy here below the content of the scfix.log file.

I thank you very much in advance for your help and support.

Hello and welcome!

GSmartControl
Follow the instructions below to check your SMART status with GSmartControl:

  • Download the portable version of GSmartControl and save it on your Desktop;
  • Extract the zip file to your Desktop. Open the folder gsmartcontrol-1.1.3-win64 which should be located on your Desktop and double-click gsmartcontrol.exe to launch the program.
  • Identify your drive in the list (if recognized by the tool), and hover your mouse over it.
  • You should see something called: SMART status. It will either read: Enabled, in which case you should do the following:
  • Double-click on it to bring up its window (usually you'll find your drive by its size or its brand name);
  • Go to the Self-Tests tab, then select Extended Self-test in the Test type drop-down list and click on Execute (this test can take a few hours to complete);
  • Once the test is over, the results will be displayed at the bottom of the window. Please copy and paste these results in your next reply or take a screenshot;
  • Also, go in the Attributes tab and if you have any entries highlighted in red or pink, take a screenshot of the GSmartControl window and attach it in your next reply;
  • Please note: If the SMART Status reads: Unsupported, stop and let me know.

Many thanks for your reply.

I've just run GSMartControl Self test on my system drive (C:\).
The self test apparently ran despite a warning: Device does not support self-test logging.
Test result was: completed without error.
I checked the Attributes tab as suggested and no record was highlighted in pink or red.

Best regards

I am not 100% sure, to be honest. The system was preinstalled on the SSD when I bought this desktop PC.
But it is possible as this equipment was tailored and built from separate components (motherboard, graphic card, SSD, HDD...)
Thanks again.
Regards
