Hello,
I'm having a lot of trouble with my computer (windows 8.1), I can't download properly, the executables I download are all corrupt, no matter how many times I try, files of Malwarebytes or Speccy always tell me something like "integrity check failed".
I already try many ways to solve the problem, did a random access memory test through windows 8 no problem found, did a chkdsk no problem either
I tried a sfc /scannow and found that a system file was corrupt, I thought that was the main problem at last. sfc /scannow had told me that the damaged files weren't fixed and pointed to a log file (CBS.log). I actually found the solution for this issue on this website through this thread : https://www.sysnative.com/forums/wi...prncacla-inf-corruptions-windows-8-8-1-a.html
I followed the instructions and sfc /scannow doesn't tell of any system file corruption anymore but the downloaded executables are still corrupt !
I started seriously thinking my problem was hardware, so I tried booting on a Ubuntu 12 CD I had burned long ago.
I only chose to try ubuntu and not installing, and through that I downloaded malwarebytes and speccy, saved them on the disk and then started windows again
The files I downloaded from Ubuntu worked fine on windows, so the problem is not hardware after all.
I also tried using my phone as a USB modem (connecting through 4G instead of my Internet service) but it didn't make any difference, downloads are still corrupt
I am at my wits' end here, I really hope you can give me some advice.
Thank's
