Hawkguy Active member Joined Jul 14, 2015 Posts 29 Oct 9, 2019 #22 It has been stable thus far, no issues over the past few days while troubleshooting. I'm going to try playing the games where I was seeing the issue arise and see if it remains stable, or continues to have issues. It definitely is seeming more like a hardware issue vs software, but I wanted to rule out anything funky before I began replacing components if needed. I'll update in a few days and let you guys know if it seems to be back to normal or if the issue persists.

They do usually hook onto a number of system functions for monitoring and scanning purposes.

Same problem, computer turned off without warning. Was in game menu at the time. I just ran the BSOD Collection program again, and I'm attaching the most up to date zip file. I am open to suggestions for next steps. I've also had HWMonitor running in the background and can screenshot/attach what it is telling me for max values if you want. Even more so if it is nearly 5 years old. The newer generation CX models are much better (grey label) but not so the green label CX. The CX went from a poor unit to a solid budget unit in the update. If the shutdowns are only often occurring in game or when sudden load is induced, it could be GPU drawing sudden power and the PSU either shutting off with faulty /hyper sensitive protections (like OVP) or simply faulting under that power draw.

I will install and give that a go. I was just hesitant to buy new hardware before ruling out any software issues, but at this point I think it's worth the investment to replace the PSU.

My view with PSUs is you never lose getting a PSU upgrade. I see far too many systems damaged by poor quality and faulty PSUs, the quantity of wattage is useless without quality. Going to a newer platform CX means regardless whether it fixes your current issue or not, you can rest easy knowing your system is in safer hands.

Please let know how it goes; I agree with @PCTailor that having a new PSU is a good investment to make regardless and could very much be the cause of your predicament. If it were going to be software issue, then Driver Verifier would have likely flagged it down by this point.

I have been using my computer to play games since then and have not had the issue recur. I will update if it happens again, or send a final update in a few days once I am able to play a few more things.
