Hello everyone.

I've been experiencing some weird bluescreens lately and I can't figure out what's causing them. I have ran both Memtest and Windows Disk-Check without any errors, have reinstalled drivers, removed antivirus, etc.. However they still keep happening like one each day when I'm not even using the computer for gaming or something else they might stress it. Yesterday it happened while watching a video using BSPlayer and today when I was having dinner.
View attachment bsodetails.rar

Some minutes ago I ran sfc /scannow and it said something weird at the end:
"Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.
Details are included in the CBS.log windir/Logs/CBS/CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log
The system file repair changes will talke effect after the next boot.""

They all seem to be related to "ntoskrnl.exe". I couldn't manage to fix it myself so I had to call the cavalry. Someone has any ideas? :)

My setup is: i5 750@3.1ghz, Asus P7P55D-Pro, 2x4GB Gskill Ripjaws, Asus GTX650 TC and Corsair TX650W SLI Single Rail.
The single recent acquisition was the GPU (had a HD4890 before), everything else is like 3 years old.

Thank you.

Hi -

For info, ntoskrnl.exe is the Windows NT Kernel and is listed in dumps simply as a default.

Remove Daemon Tools and any other virtual devices for now -
http://sysnative.com/drivers/driver.php?id=dtsoftbus01.sys

A few of the 12 dumps showed o/c -
Code:
MaxSpeed: 2670
CurrentSpeed: 3164
Reset to default.

Update Realtek NIC driver -
Code:
Rt64win7.sys Fri [COLOR=#ff0000]Jun 10[/COLOR] 02:33:15 [COLOR=#ff0000]2011 [/COLOR](4DF1BAAB)

Hello.
Last night I formatted my computer just to make sure it wasn't anything driver or software related. Interestingly enough it bsod when I had 2x4GB ram with the extra 2x2GB taken out. I thought about adding them to do a memtest over night which ran for 9 hours with 0 errors and no bsod yet. I think it might have something to do with ram frequency/clocks because I'm fairly sure my comp was oc'd before I bought it and now with the new ram some value might be wrong. However, that OC in the CPU you saw has been in this computer for 3 years and has never caused overtemps or any kind of problems - it can be considered a stable and safe OC.
I tried installing the Realtek drivers you mentioned but the .rar I downloaded doesn't have any exectuable files and none of them seem to do anything so I'm kinda lost there aswell.

I'll attach the new crash reports in this post that happened yesterday before I added +2x2GB ram.

I'll also post CPU-Z screenshots so if you have the time please double check the RAM values, frequencies and clocks to see if everything is default.

Does it Bsod if you only use the 4 gig of 1333 spd ram?

Running 1333 and 1866 speed ram may be the issue, in theory the 1866 should slow to 1333 speeds but the clocks on the 2 don't always match up.
Another issue is the memory controller on the i5 750 is designed to run 1066/1333 spd ram XMP profiles will overclock it to 1600, the cpu memory controller only has max memory multiplier of 10 meaning that you must hit a BClock of 160 to run 1600 that would OC the CPU to 3.2 or so.

Since I formatted it only bluescreened yesterday when I had 8GB. After that I added all the ram it previously had and ran memtest overnight without any errors (4 dimms) and no bluescreens yet.
I'm going to change the BCLK value on bios to match the values you said. I'll update this post if something happens.
Thank you

The problem with that is the 2 pair of ram sicks have different values for XMP settings as shown in the CPUz screen shots you provided, if you want to OC the ram it needs to be all the same and compatible with your motherboard, the F3-10666CL9D-4GBXL are listed in the QVL for your P7P55d-Pro motherboard in the G.Skill link you provided the F3-14900CL9D-8GBXL sticks are for i series second and third gen CPU's(Sandy and Ivy bridge CPU's) and newer .

Yea but I'm not looking to overclock anything related to RAM. But if that really happened, wouldn't it show in the memtest instead of coming up with a clean one?

Depends on the speed they were actually running at the time, if for example you have the bios set to enable XMP settings then both pairs would be enabled the new ones do not appear to have the same timings as the old so probably would not work.

Did the BSODs start only after installing the new sticks?

How can I know if I have that enabled?
No they started before, but then I removed the 2gb sticks and it didn't bsod for like 2 days, then it started again and I did a fresh new windows install and put the 4 dimms together again as it was before the bsods started happening in the first place.

Hum I'm sorry to make this harder than it already is but I'm having trouble finding out where that setting is inside the bios. Could you please tell me under what tab it is or something?

Hi -

Please follow the advice given by Wrench97; however, Asus ATK0110 driver needs to be updated ASAP. This 2005 version is known to cause system instability & BSODs in Windows 7 -
Code:
[font=lucida console]ASACPI.sys   Sun Mar 27 22:30:36 2005 (42476C4C) - Asus ATK0110[/font]
http://sysnative.com/drivers/driver.php?id=ASACPI.sys

Both dumps showed o/c:
Code:
  Processor may be overclocked!
  Expected Frequency: 2670
  Actual Frequency: 3164
  Overclock Ratio: 1.18

After RAM issues are sorted out:

Update Realtek NIC driver -
Code:
Rt64win7.sys Fri [COLOR=#ff0000]Jun 10[/COLOR] 02:33:15 [COLOR=#ff0000]2011 [/COLOR](4DF1BAAB)

Today I'll remove my 2x2gb sticks and keep my 2x4gb ones, just to be sure they aren't causing any problems since they are different sets of RAM (frequency and clock wise). I'll test the system to see if it's stable and then I'll report back.

Hi -

Please follow the advice given by Wrench97; however, Asus ATK0110 driver needs to be updated ASAP. This 2005 version is known to cause system instability & BSODs in Windows 7 -
Code:
[FONT=lucida console]ASACPI.sys   Sun Mar 27 22:30:36 2005 (42476C4C) - Asus ATK0110[/FONT]
http://sysnative.com/drivers/driver.php?id=ASACPI.sys

Both dumps showed o/c:
Code:
  Processor may be overclocked!
  Expected Frequency: 2670
  Actual Frequency: 3164
  Overclock Ratio: 1.18

After RAM issues are sorted out:

Update Realtek NIC driver -
Code:
Rt64win7.sys Fri [COLOR=#ff0000]Jun 10[/COLOR] 02:33:15 [COLOR=#ff0000]2011 [/COLOR](4DF1BAAB)
http://sysnative.com/drivers/driver.php?id=Rt64win7.sys
[/code]

About the Realtek drivers you linked, I can't really install them since the .rar doesn't contain an exectuable file. Am I doing something wrong here? Also, the Asus ATK driver ran a very quick command prompt and then immediately restarted computer, I hope that was it and that it installed correctly.

Thank you

Please check the date on ASACPI.sys

Try this command from an Admin CMD prompt:
Code:
dir c:\windows\system32\drivers\asacpi.sys >0 & start notepad 0

I'll check on Realtek.

About the Realtek drivers, I found a way to install them already.

Please create a system restore point 1st -
START | type create | create a restore point

Download Site2/ US1 from the first line on this page -

http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads...d=5&Level=5&Conn=4&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false

It will download a zip file named - Driver_Win7_7073_07232013.zip

Unzip/extract the folder - Driver_Win7_7073_07232013

Go into Device Manager -
START | type devmgmt.msc | expand "Networking" | double-click on Realtek Ethernet | click on "driver" tab | click on "Update Driver"

Then make selection to allow you to browse/show Windows the folder with the INF file in it -- it will be the x64 folder in RED (I unzipped the file & executed a DIR listing):
Code:

C:\Driver_Win7_7073_07232013\WIN7\64>

See if that updates the Realtek driver.

Execute this command from an Admin CMD prompt:
Code:
>dir %windir%\system32\drivers\rt64win7.sys >0 & start notepad 0

A Notepad will open.

About the Realtek drivers, I found a way to install them already.

Just saw this after I submitted my post!

All looks good.

Did you get the RAM issue situated that Wrench97 mentioned?

I'll have to ask Wrench or another to look in on the RAM, but it does seem OK.

I sit on the software side of the fence mostly; hence the reason I posted about ATK0110 as I've seen the 2004/5 versions bring down brand new systems.

I would suggest getting W7 SP1 installed; use the system normally and please let us know how things go.

EDIT: Hope you don't mind that I attached your screenshots -- doing so will preserve them in our SQL DB to help others in the future.
