Hi,

I'm trying to exhaust all resources at this point because I am beyond frustrated. I've already done extensive troubleshooting and have a very in depth thread on another site that hasn't solved the problem yet. I'm hoping you all can help. I will try and be as detailed as possible and lay things out chronologically.

I deployed about a year ago with my computer working (V1). When I returned home it began randomly restarting while I was playing WoW. I noticed that I could play other games like CIV 5. I took it in to a computer shop and had it upgraded (V2). When I received it back with a new PSU and same model but new MOBO it was still restarting while playing WoW. Fast forward to two days ago Im currently running V3 of my rig, specs you can see below. Currently I can run Civ 5 without issue. I ran bioshock infinite last night for about 15 min without issue. WoW restarted before it could finish patching, and Dragon Age: Inquisition will restart within 5 minutes of starting the game.

Here is a list of what I have tried already.
- Reinstalled all GPU drivers
- Disabled on board sound card
- Reenabled on board sound card
- Uninstalled and re installed on board card drivers
- Reset BIOS to optimized default settings
- Posted screen shot of system using CPUID CPU-Z which I will attach
- Posted screen shot of system using CPUID HWmonitor which I will attach
- ran memtext86+ 7 passes = 0 issues
- full reinstall of windows 7 64 bit
- benchmark 3D11 test = 0 issues
- used CrystalDiskInfo to check stability of my 2x 1TB WD caviar black HDD's
- restarted computer after unplugging extra HDD, all extra USB, and DVD-R/Rw drive
- ran registry cleaner one time clearing 91 errors

V1) Asus A7N8X delux board + I3 processor, NVidia gtx 660 ti GPU, old not sure PSU, old ram Corsair 3x2gb, DvD-R/rw drive old, 2x1TB WDcavierblack old, thermaltak armor series steel ATX full tower old

V2) Asus A7N8X delux (NEW), old processor, old gpu, old ram, PSU Thermaltak 750w (NEW), DvD-R/rw drive old, 2x1TB WDcavierblack old, thermaltak armor series steel ATX full tower old

V3) ASUS P9X79 LE (New), Core I7-4820k 3.7gHz (new), GeForce GTX760 (new), Kingston Ram DDR3 1600 2x8gb (new), Thermaltak 750w PSU (new from V2), DvD-R/rw drive old, 2x1TB WDcavierblack old, thermaltak armor series steel ATX full tower old

Really??? Nobody pointed out the red hot 83-85°C  CPU temps seen by your monitoring programs? That is most likely your problem!

You need to rein those temps in. I get really nervous when my CPU temps rise above 60°C and stay there longer than a few seconds. I note your CPU fan was spinning at 800RPM at that time. That seems slow - especially with a hot CPU. It should be running full speed at those temps. My i7 is currently running at 38°C but the OEM CPU fan is still spinning at 1400RPM.

I also don't see any fan speeds for any other fans. That can just mean they are not monitored, but you should still have at least one, if not two or more case fans spinning, and creating a decent front-to-flow through the case.

Is the system interior clean of heat trapping dust? Are you using a 3rd party cooler? If so, did you properly apply a good layer of TIM (thermal interface material)?

If overclocking, stop now - until this is resolved.

Hi,

Thanks for the response. The temps are fixed. See second attached pic (not one with speed fan one with HWMonitor) Temps are are currently running at 32-40 C. I had accidentally clicked the wrong button in my BIOS for "maximum performance". The BIOS is now set to optimized defaults and is running at no more than 40C while benchmarking. Also there are multiple fans in the PC, one covering each HD, 2 on the GPU, and an additional large fan on the side. They are just not plugged in to the MOBO. The system is clean. I have literally had it back for two days and have been trouble shooting every since.

See second attached pic
I did and if you look again, you will see 83°C for CPUTIN. Too hot! But I note not all monitoring programs properly monitor CPUTIN. So run Speccy (from the makers of CCleaner) to verify the temperatures.

not sure if this helps but I ran a benchmark test again and got this error

Unexpected error running tests.
Workload Single init returned error message: DXGI call IDXGISwapChain::SetFullscreenState failed [-2005270494]:

The requested functionality is not supported by the device or the driver.

DXGI_ERROR_NOT_CURRENTLY_AVAILABLE

Well, that is a graphics error. So you may need to try a new (or older) driver. Or maybe the card is going. :(

Any errors running dxdiag from the Search box?
