Computer freezes from time to time no BSOD

I came to this part of the site after following instructions here https://www.sysnative.com/forums/windows-update/20297-sfc-scannow-cannot-fix-file.html#post159873

I am getting computer freezes every so often, the mouse will just stop responding and I will need to restart my computer. I am not sure what is causing it.

All I can really do here is to give you some hardware diagnostic programs to run. The cause is "unknown" hardware failure.

• RAM - memtest86+ - run 1 stick at a time; alternate the slots - https://www.sysnative.com/forums/hardware-tutorials/3909-test-ram-memtest86.html
• HDD - SeaTools for DOS, LONG test - https://www.sysnative.com/forums/hardware-tutorials/4072-hard-drive-hdd-diagnostics.html
• FurMark video card test - https://www.sysnative.com/forums/hardware-tutorials/3907-furmark-display-card-stress-test.html
• Prime95 CPU - https://www.sysnative.com/forums/hardware-tutorials/3908-prime95-hardware-stress-testing.html

The problem may also be with other hardware parts such as the motherboard or PSU for which there are no software tests.

What OS are you using?
And antivirus?
And firewall?
And antimalware?
Did you try to use windows built-in firewall/antimalware/antivirus only, after you removed completely all third parties security solutions? (If you are using pre-win8 machines, MS security essentials)

Additional informations could be useful; for example:

• System information log
  You should run only one of the following commands, the one you prefer.

  The first command is longer than the following ones, but it should always work. Hence, in case of errors with the other two commands, try the first one.
  Obviously, YourWinAccountFolder should be substituted with your Win Account Folder name.
  The following commands should be run from an elevated command prompt.
  How to open an elevated command prompt in ALL windows versions: click (or right-click) on Windows Start, click in the searchbox (or click Search, or start to type directly), type CMD, press and hold CTRL and SHIFT keys (on your keyboard), press enter (on your keyboard), release all the keys, click yes to UAC window (if you disabled UAC, this shouldn't appear)

  msinfo32 /nfo "c:\users\YourWinAccountFolder\desktop\MsInfo.nfo"
  or
  msinfo32 /nfo "c:\users\%username%\desktop\MsInfo.nfo"
  or

  (Then upload it here)

• Retrieve System Information, using speccy
  1. Download Speccy portable - actual version 1.29.714 (click), unzip/decompress it and put it on your desktop.
  2. When the program opens, it will retrieve some information regarding your system.
  3. Once it's done, select the File menu and choose Publish snapshot. Answer Yes to the confirmation message.
  4. On the next screen that comes up, choose the Copy to Clipboard button and paste this link in your next reply.
