I am hoping someone can tell me what the USA Check Value being incorrect in CHKDSK Results mean
I believe it means update sequence array check.

The Update Sequence Array (USA) is a series of uint16 (two-byte unsigned integer) entries that contain the last two bytes of each sector consumed by the structure. Any time we read a sector that is part of that structure, we must account for the USN. First we check to see if the last two bytes are the same as the USN from the structure’s header, to see if we read the sector correctly and to ensure the sector that we read is part of the structure we meant to read. Once we are happy with that, we throw it away. Next we need to step through the USA to the entry that corresponds to the sector we are reading, and substitute those two bytes for the last two of the sector we just read.

The report displayed bad sectors.

Was this new or known?

Are they stable or increasing?

Run HD Tune (free version) (all drives)

What switches, if any, did you run with chkdsk?

If you just ran chkdsk alone, then I recommend from an elevated command prompt (run as administrator), enter chkdsk /r and see what happens. Note this can take several hours to complete and appear to be locked up. Just let it run, it will eventually complete. Note that the /r switch is includes the functions of the /f switch (so you don't need both), but is more extensive.

I am not a fan of running 3rd party tools when native Windows (chkdsk) or manufacturer's tools are available. Most drive makers have drive diagnostics tools available on their websites. The most common include:

SeaTools - For Seagate and Maxtor drives.
Western Digital Dashboard - For WD SSDs and hard drives.

Sorry for cross posting,I do appreciate your help.I did not mean to step on any ones toes.I wan't do it in the future.I will be respectful. As I hope you will.I am not used to posting on forums.

I have already run SeaTools for Windows and everything Passed.
it seems to be stable at the moment,I have known about this for a while now.I will run CHKDSK /R and see what that does.I also ran HardDisk Validator and it didn't show any bad sectors. It took hours and hours to run.

I see no reason to keep running diagnostic programs at this time if it passed SeaTools. I would urge you to back up any data on that drive you don't want lost and keep current backups. Then in a month, run chkdsk /r and see what happens. If chkdsk reports new problems (or if new problems arise before then), don't risk it, replace the drive.
