I have run a sfc /scannow and the log is clear. I have also run a checksur but the log shows 10,610 errors:

CSI Missing Deployment Key Total 1082 (Not sure what these are)

CBS Watchlist Package Missing Total 7462 (These seem to be updates that are not applicable to my computer and therefore not installed but remain in the registry)

CBS Watchlist Component Missing Total 2066 (Not sure what these are)

I have no problem downloading and installing windows updates, but would like to remove or fix these entries in the registry.

I have a HP Pavilion p6610t
Intel Celeron CPU E3300 @ 2.50GHz 2.50GHz
Installed Memory (RAM) 4.0GB
Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64 bit (pre-installed)

What can I do to clean up the checksur log??

Thanks
Deb

Hello Deb, and welcome to Sysnative :)

Can you please export and upload your CBS folder for me, please: https://www.sysnative.com/forums/windows-update/4736-windows-update-forum-posting-instructions.html

I will take a look at the logfiles and see what can and should be done. At the end of the day, you have a lot of errors, and Windows Update is in a slightly precarious position. Better a few errors in the log and no real world problems than Windows Update completely broken.

Hence why I would like to look over all the logfiles in order to make a fully informed decision about what to do based on all of the facts.

Thank you!

Hello again :)

Please download the Freeware RegBak from here: Acelogix Software - Download products

Navigate to C:\Windows\RegBak\{Date}\ and copy the COMPONENTS file to your Desktop. If the COMPONENTS file does not exist, please fetch it instead from C:\Windows\System32\config\COMPONENTS.

Now right click on it > Send to > Compressed (zipped) folder.

Then please upload it to your favourite file sharing website (it will be too big for here). If you have a Microsoft Account, SkyDrive could be a good choice: https://skydrive.live.com/, but any other will do just fine.

Thank you!

I hope I'm doing this right. You can find the file at this link: http://sdrv.ms/XrJ4T1

Hi Deb,

My apologies for the delayed response, it appears that you fell off our radar. Are you still experiencing these problems?

Tom

I ended up having a computer crash, so I had to do a recovery installation. Fortunately I have a HP and it comes with recovery option that puts the computer back to factory condition, unfortunately I have to reinstall all my programs, and download and install all my windows updates. Pain in the butt, but my computer is working much faster.

Thanks for all your assistance
Deb

Hi Deb,

I'm sorry to hear that but I'm glad that you're all up and running again! :)
