Can't update windows 7 to 10, SYSPREP error, Windows Features Blank..please help..

Lets remove some old Avast registry keys first.

Step 1:
Warning: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Do not run this script on another machine.
  1. Download the attachment fixlist.txt and save it to your desktop.
  2. Right-click on FRST64.exe and select "Run as administrator".
  3. Press the Fix button.
  4. The tool will now process fixlist.txt.
  5. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
  6. When finished, a log called Fixlog.txt will appear in the same directory the tool is run from.
  7. Attach the logfile Fixlog.txt to your next reply.

Step 2:
Install Update with DISM
  1. Download the update MSU here: https://catalog.s.download.windowsu..._42467e48b4cfeb44112d819f50b0557d4f9bbb2f.msu
  2. Copy the MSU file to a convenient location (such as C:\temp).
  3. Click on the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
  4. When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
  5. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following commands into it, press enter after each

    cd C:\temp
    replace C:\temp with your path if different

    expand windows6.1-kb3177467-x64_42467e48b4cfeb44112d819f50b0557d4f9bbb2f.msu -f:* C:\temp

    DISM.exe /Online /Add-Package /PackagePath:C:\temp\windows6.1-kb3177467-x64.cab

  6. You should receive the message:
    The operation completed successfully.
    Make sure to allow the computer to restart if prompted.
  7. If you receive any other message:
    Post a screenshot of the Commandprompt window.
    Zip and attach the file C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log

Restart the machine.
Run the command sfc /scannow in an elevated commandprompt and report the result.
If it fails, copy the file C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\cbs.log to your desktop.
Zip the copied file and attach the zipped cbs.log to your next reply.
 
We need to repair the permissions of a registry key.
Please do following. If anything is unclear, ask first before you continue.
  1. Click the Start-button and in the search box, type regedit.
  2. When you see regedit on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator.
  3. In the left hand panel of regedit, you will see a list of registry keys. Navigate to the following key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Component Based Servicing\ApplicabilityEvaluationCache
  4. Right-click on it and select Permissions...
  5. Click Add.
  6. Type Everyone in the text box.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Single click on Everyone and then tick the "Full Control" box under Allow.
  9. Click OK twice.

What was the result of the command DISM.exe /Online /Add-Package /PackagePath:C:\temp\windows6.1-kb4490628-x64.cab in my previous message ?

Restart the machine.

Hi Peter..The Pc took the command and completed it, it did say, "The operation completed successfully".. If the question is regarding avast then there is no difference still can't update. Is it safe to assume once were able to upgrade to windows 10 that these issues will be resolved? As always a big thank you!

Attach the file C:\Windows\Logs\DISM\dism.log also.
 
Zip the following files and attach the zipfile to your next reply.
- C:\Windows\inf\setupapi.offline.log
- C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CbsPersist_20250508200628.cab
 
Provide a fresh copy of the COMPONENTS hive, see message #3, step 3.
