Hi @jafet111,

Welcome to Sysnative Forums!

If you haven't already, please review the posting instructions here, and attach the requested log files. Without log files, our helpers will not be able to assist, and this will slow down fixing your machine.

If logs have been already been provided, our team of volunteers will analyse the provided log files to build a fix for your system. Please be aware that this may take several days from your initial post, due to the high volume of threads that we receive.

Is there some tutorial, guide or training how to troubleshoot such windows update issues ?

Hi,

Please do the following.

Step 1. Download
67139f7e69a58-SFCFix-ico.PNG
SFCFix and save it to your desktop.

Warning: This fix was written specifically for this system. Do not run this fix on another system.
  • Save any work you have open, and close all programs.
  • Download the attachment SFCFix.zip and save it to your desktop.
  • Drag the SFCFix.zip file over the SFCFix.exe executable and release it.

  • SFCFix will launch, let it complete.
  • Once done, a file will appear on your desktop, called SFCFix.txt.
  • Post the logfile (SFCFix.txt) as attachment in your next reply.

Step 2. Run the following DISM command and post the result. If it fails attach a new copy of the CBS log.
Code:
DISM /online /cleanup-image /RestoreHealth

Please provide the CBS logs as requested, the DISM log is not very helpful.

Open an elevated prompt and copy paste the result in your next post.
Code:
certutil -hashfile %SystemRoot%\servicing\CbsApi.dll SHA256

C:\>certutil -hashfile %SystemRoot%\servicing\CbsApi.dll SHA256
SHA256 hash of C:\windows\servicing\CbsApi.dll:

CertUtil: -hashfile command completed successfully.

C:\>

Please reboot the system and run the System File Checker. If it fails attach a new copy of the CBS log.
Code:
SFC /Scannow

Scan completed successfully.

C:\>SFC /Scannow

Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.

Beginning verification phase of system scan.
Verification 100% complete.

Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them.
For online repairs, details are included in the CBS log file located at
windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For offline
repairs, details are included in the log file provided by the /OFFLOGFILE flag.

So issue is resolved ? May I try to install win updates ?

Please run DISM first and post the result, if it fails again attach the latest CBS log.
Code:
DISM /online /cleanup-image /RestoreHealth

C:\>DISM /online /cleanup-image /RestoreHealth

Fantastic.
Thank you very much.
Since July last year it was unable to install any win update.
May I know what was the root cause ?

Is somewhere on your web site some training or tutorial how to solve such issues ? Or any MS or other commercial courses/trainings ?
How to parsing winSXS and COMPONENT data, what is/isn't important in logs, etc. ?

In tutorial section of sysnative web page there's no such informations.

Thank you once again.

You're welcome. Glad to hear the issue has been resolved and in this case the Servicing Stack was corrupted.
