Cannot access Taskbar settings.

Hey guys, I have just stumbled upon these forums after hours of searching for answers and judging from the answers in other threads the people seem very knowledgeable.

My problem is that I cannot edit my taskbar settings. When I right click the taskbar the "Taskbar Settings" option is greyed out and when I access it through Cortana, all options are greyed out except for "Automatically hide the taskbar in Tablet Mode".
I ran "sfc /scannow" but it said that some corrupted files could not be fixed because the stored files were also corrupt. Not really sure what to do at this point other than a system format which I would really prefer not to do as it would take a really long time to reinstall everything.

I can't attach the SFC log because the file is too large. Any alternatives for where to upload will be appreciated.

Due to the nature of your corruption, please begin with the following:

GSmartControl
Follow the instructions below to test your hard drive health with GSmartControl:


  • Download GSmartControl and save it on your Desktop;
  • Execute gsmartcontrol.exe; Let the install complete and launch the programme.
  • Identify your drive in the list, and double-click on it to bring up it's window (usually you'll find your drive by it's size or it's brand name);
  • Go in the Perform Tests tab, then select Extended Self-test in the Test type drop-down list and click on Execute (this test can take a few hours to complete);
  • Once the test is over, the results will be displayed at the bottom of the window. Please copy and paste these results in your next reply;
  • Also, go in the Attributes tab and if you have any entries highlighted in red or pink, take a screenshot of the GSmartControl window and attach it in your next reply;
As for the too large logs, please upload them to Dropbox or Filedropper.

Please navigate to C:\Windows\Logs, copy your CBS folder to your Desktop, zip it up and upload it to a file sharing service of your choice.

Afterwards, provide a link for me to review.
