Hi,
I am new to this forum and in hope of some guidance, i am posting this here.

I too am facing the same issue.

I have recently purchased a brand new Sony Vaio E series (SVE14A16FNS) Laptop. and from day 1 itself it is showing random blue screen errors. (12 -13 of them already in around 20 hours of usage)

There is no pattern to when the error occurs.

The errors are - IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED, CACHE_MANAGER

Steps I have already taken -
- done system rescue/restore to original factory settings once which did not solve the problem
- done all hardware tests like processor, memory etc which pass successfully

I am uploading the BSOD dump files and hoping one of the members here can help me understand what could be the likely issue here. Is it hardware, or software?

BSOD minidump files attached

Also please advise if such issues are covered under warranty and should I ask for a full laptop replacement or just a repair/service?

The weird thing was it was actually a new one as I noticed there was a little scratch on the old one and this one doesn't!!
this was actually my first sony...and reason I got it was cause I heard it was a trustworthy brand...I still find it really strange though...
anyway I did make a big fuss about it and I made them exchange it for a new model..hopefully this one doesn't BSOD on me *Fingers crossed* :)

I'll leave the analyzing to professionals but I'll give you the advice they all told me and it was the best option there is...I had same laptop you have with the same issue and turned out a brand new laptop shouldn't have not a single blue screen so you should definitely demand a replacement (I did the same and don't worry it is under warranty)

A brand new system with BSODs on day one? It's hardware. Get it replaced. It's always preferred you request a full replacement as opposed to repair, since all they'll do is repair a part they suspect is bad and send it your way, and if their deduction isn't right, then it means you having to send on back. I've had this happen a couple times where I've had to send it or have them send a tech to me 3 times for a single system because they misjudge what it is. Force their hand to get it replaced. Be civil about it but also be aggressive, since they will often make an effort to do a repair instead. Fortunately, you shouldn't really have any data on the system right now that couldn't be replaced in haste.

If you're still determined to get this one working, then update all its drivers and firmware from the Sony website, including BIOS, then remove any software (bloatware) Sony has installed on your system aside from necessary drivers. If that doesn't work, get the thing replaced.

I agree -- if you keep this system, you'll be fixing it (or trying) for years to come.

You deserve an exchange for another new system.

I agree as well, the PC came with a warranty for a reason, make good use of it. As Vir Gnarus said, BSOD's on a brand new, one day old machine is a sign of a hardware issue. I've experienced this myself, where the RAM that came with the system was bad. Retuned it and the company, Medion, repaired it. Make use of the warranty! :D
