BSOD: "Registry error", which always BSODs my PC roughly two minutes after startup

Windows 7 64-bit SP1 on a stock Compaq CQ5600F with 4GB of RAM rather than the standard 2GB.

I managed to get the BSOD report program to run in safe mode, but I couldn't do PerfMon /report in safe mode, and PerfMon running in regular mode never finished in time before the two-minutes-after-startup BSOD cut it off.

I've already uninstalled everything that was causing the BSOD last time I submitted something here (which were Soluto and Daemon Tools Lite, mostly) so I don't know what else this could be.

Have also defragged and compressed the registry with Glary Utilities and Piriform CCleaner, hoping to fix this, but they apparently haven't found it either.

This is about half a day after I ran a regular Spybot Search & Destroy scan and a Microsoft Security Essentials scan, both happening last night.

Phone-camera pic of the BSOD, if this helps.

"Two minute time limit" BSOD possibly resolved. Latest report here. Can you confirm?

Compaq CQ5600F with 4GB RAM (dual channel DDR2 @ 334MHz), otherwise stock

·
Original OS: Windows 7 Home Premium x64 SP1, unchanged, preinstalled
· PC hardware is 4-6 years old, not reinstalled
· CPU: AMD Athlon II 170u Sargas 45nm
· Video Card: Onboard graphics, 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430
· Motherboard: Pegatron Narra 5
· Power Supply: 250W, unsure of brand or model

I disabled two faulty things in Device Manager (a storage controller "AZA7IQM0 IDE Controller", and a somehow-faulty USB composite device) and that seems to have stopped the problem. I had no problems remaining in last-known-good-settings, administrator privileges, while running JCGriff2's app and PerfMon. This is the latest report. Hope you can make sense of it, thank you so much! You've saved my PC more than twice now :grin1:

Hi,

Both of the attached DMP files are of the REGISTRY_ERROR (51) bug check.

This indicates that a severe registry error has occurred.

This error may indicate that the registry encountered an I/O error while trying to read one of its files. This can be caused by hardware problems or file system corruption. It may also occur due to a failure in a refresh operation, which is used only in by the security system, and then only when resource limits are encountered.

For reference: DEFAULT_BUCKET_ID: VERIFIER_ENABLED_VISTA_MINIDUMP

^^ Verifier enabled but it's not detecting a device driver in violation, further shows this is not being caused by a faulty and or buggy driver and most likely a corrupt OS. In general, the *51 bug check is mostly caused simply by a very corrupted OS and a repair and or clean install solves it.

** These bug checks usually come to be with the use of programs like CCleaner's registry cleaner, etc. Do not use them. Even if you don't, keep this in mind. They can also spawn because of just severe corruption over time.

Regards,

Patrick
