BSOD during games and games unexpectedly closing

Hi im having a problem with my pc, i built it myself and it turned out fine with no problems for a good few months until i there was a powercut in my area while my computer was asleep. Ever since it would crash during games or just unexpectedly close, sometimes it the game would crash as soon as it started running. I have tried resetting it \nd even reformatting my drives and freshly installing windows on them to no avail.

Im also having problems with my headphones on discord, sometimes the microphone would sound muffled or static until i tried a few different usb ports but the problem would occur on all of them. There is nothing wrong with my headphones though as i have used them on my laptop fine without these problems.

Other than these things my PC runs fine with all other tasks.

originally nothing
windows is a full rental version
system is about 2 years old
the OS now is about a year old, i gave up as i had exams and uni to worry about

i think thats fixed it, ive run sfc /scannow and its all clear. Thank you so so much

Hi i spoke too soon i guess. I ran sfc /scannow after flashing bios to F31 and there was nothing wrong detected so i decided to update bios to F50a. Again there was nothing wrong but as soon as i played a game i could tell my fps has taken a massive hit, even in minecraft. i then reinstalled my graphics card driver manually to no avail and i also flashed F31 onto my 2nd bios as there are two on my motherboard which also didnt help. Any ideas?

Hi, the problem has now fixed itself after i did a fresh installation of windows, fps is now fine but thanks for the help

Didn't you do a clean install of Windows before and you still experienced issues?

yes i did. The bios update fixed all the crashing and BSOD issues but then when i updated to windows 1909 my fps in games halfed so i did a fresh install of windows which has fixed my fps issues
