[SOLVED] BSOD Code A. FIX: uninstalled all security programs, reinstalled the wifi network drivers, reinstalled only a security program (Avast).

Hi and welcome to Sysnative forums :-)

I see a few issues going on here.

The first one, a lack of free space. Particularly the free space available on your C:\ partition on which Windows is installed. Right now, due to insufficient free space, when Windows crashes it's unable to save all diagnostics onto the disk. This also prevents Windows from doing other background stuff like overall maintenance, so you get notified if something's off.
Code:
2024-10-06T10:21:47.000 The dump file at location: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP was deleted because the disk volume had less than 25 GB free space.
2024-10-06T13:17:04.000 The dump file at location: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP was deleted because the disk volume had less than 25 GB free space.
2024-10-08T12:22:03.000 The dump file at location: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP was deleted because the disk volume had less than 25 GB free space.
2024-10-08T14:09:41.000 The dump file at location: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP was deleted because the disk volume had less than 25 GB free space.
2024-10-10T09:54:14.000 The dump file at location: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP was deleted because the disk volume had less than 25 GB free space.

Looking in the dumps, I repeatedly see the Ralink network adapter driver
netr28x.sys

At the same time, I also see this driver, or similar drivers with the prefix asw when dumping the stack in multiple dumps.
Code:

Looking at msinfo32 in the programs list, I see this can be a cause for security and stability issues. I saw that Malwarebytes is also installed. You should remove all these programs and keep only one of them, if you paid for one of them you can keep that one installed. Having multiple antivirus programs installed may seem smart, but it's counterintuitive because it causes conflicts which you (as in the average user) experience as problems like BSOD crashes, slow performance, or other errors.

The netr28x is your network driver, the asw prefixed drivers is from Avast that use the netr28x driver to use the internet.

Could you provide answers to the questions from the posting instructions about the specifications from your laptop? I'm having some challenges figuring out a few things due to lack of information on your laptop specs.

  • Are you using proxy, vpn, ipfilters or similar software? NO

Since the crashes happened frequently in the past few days, have you had crashes since removing the programs?

In that case you should visit HP support page to download and reinstall the wifi network drivers.

Good to hear, I think it's safe to reinstall Avast or any antivirus you want to use and let me know how it goes.

Did you reinstall the wifi network drivers?
Or you just uninstalled all security programs, avast included, and later reinstalled avast?
I uninstalled all security programs
Then i reinstalled the wifi network drivers, and later reinstalled avast
