[SOLVED] Bluescreen At Startup

Hello Tomohawk_1954,

Please provide the new dumps that may help to identify the root cause of the Bsods.

1) you can try to get them via safe mode boot:
  • Once in Windows RE, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart
  • Select Restart
  • Once the device reboots, in the Startup Settings screen selects Enable Safe Mode option.
  • Once your PC/laptop boot in to safe mode please plug the USB flash drive and copy all new dumps from c:\Windows\Minidump folders.
  • please zip them and attach it to the next reply.
2) if the first option will not work, please try to copy new dumps via recovery mode.
  • Once in Windows RE, select Troubleshoot ->Advanced Options->Command prompt.
  • Open Notepad at the command prompt
  • Click on File -> Open..
  • Click on the drop-down arrow to the right of the file name box and change the file type to, All files (*.*)
  • Find the USB flash Drive partition letter (i.e. D:, etc)
  • once you identify the system disk, please type the following command:
    Code:
    copy c:\Windows\Minidump\*.dmp e:\
  • * - where e: is a USB flash Drive letter that you have identified earlier.
  • please zip them and attach it to the next reply.

In command prompt, in the root of C:\ I could see a number of .tmp files with a "DUMP" name

Don't know if they help. There were a total of 70, but I've just enclosed those with today's date.

Thanks SQx for all the support with this, and also to Corday for your input. It is very much appreciated.

I have done a full install and am running again, albeit that I have to rebuild all my files etc.

I am having similar (but no bsod) update issues with my desktop and that is the subject of a new thread.

Tommy
