Bad Memory stick corrupted sysytem files, unable to update [for WAY to long - sorry]. No Recent restore points at time of 1st error [only VERY OLD ones - Oops]. Machine currently Boots, and Runs satisfactorily. Using Defender firewall with Kaspersky AV
Tried all standard methods including:
1] sfc/ scannow in Safe Mode [Fails @ 54% Verification with "W.R.P. Could Not Perform the Requested Operation”]
2] chkdsk /r
3] ICACLS C:\Windows\winsxs

4] Ensure Windows Modules Installer Service is running
5] DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
6] DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:G:\Sources\install.esd /LimitAccess
7] DL and Run ComponentsScanner

Do NOT want to use Windows Automatic Repair and risk losing many customizations etc.. Apologies in advance for waiting SO long to tackle this. I know it will make the problem harder to solve. Thanks, Mole.

Tried update again. Install reaches 100%, still fails with error message: "Some update files are missing or have problems. We'll try to download the update again later. Error code: (0x80073712)"

After 5 months consider this request as redacted and transfered to another site - seems like long enough to wait.
