Hi, for the last couple weeks now all audio in my PC has been getting out of sync after a minute or two of watching any video stream, been trying to look online and trying different solutions and none seem to permanently resolve the issue, found a post about using latencymon which then led me to finding this forum, hoping the problem will be fixed!

OS: Windows 10 home (latest version)
All drivers up to date

UPDATE: It's not just my browsers, rhythm games I play in my free time also fall out of sync

EDIT: after reinstalling nvidia drivers there is cackling in the background in said games and a lot of stuttering with occasional graphical glitches

If you recently updated audio drivers, try rolling back. If you updated from the Device Manger, try going directly to the manufacturer (Don't use 3rd party) site. Now it depends on your comfort level. If you have some computer skills go into the bios and turn High Precision Event Timer (HPET) off. Try finding it in Power Management, but it might be anywhere in the bios. If that doesn't help, reset back to original. I'm assuming you already ran PC Health and sfc /scannow.

I haven't updated audio drivers recently until after the issue popped up and i tried reinstalling them, and I just tried the sfc /scannow and it didn't resolve the problem

I meant for you to run DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth, then run sfc /scannow. Also did you try turning off HPET?

ok still nothing from that, and my mobo doesnt seem to have an option to turn off HPET, its an asus B360M-A

Unfortunately Asus bios's don't have the feature. See if it's in your Device Manager (High Precision Event Timer). If so, disable it.

omg i think that was it, ill report back if it falls out of sync again as every other "solution" ive tried did appear to work for like a day before it got bad again

Re-enable since that didn't solve the problem. Try disabling Hardware Acceleration. We're really going through trial and error here.

already tried turning off hardware acceleration long ago, also cant be that because its affecting things outside my browser and on other browsers
