  • Had this problem for awhile. Exactly the same as a lot of people on here. High latency DSP coming from storahci.sys (about 30,000) causing crackles and pops. Causes screen to freeze very minimally as well. Tried updating MOBO Drivers, Installing audio drivers, made sure IDE ATA/ATAPI were all Standard SATA AHCI (reverted to AMD, which wouldnt let PC launch, launched in safe mode and reinstalled), unplugging extra storage devices, disabling HTEP, disabling Dynamic Tick Timer, SFC Scannow, etc etc. I've done everything under the sun that I've been able to find on this issue. Only thing I've yet to try that I've seen is updating SATA firmware? I would do it but I don't know where to find the correct firmware (have Crucial P1 M.2 2280 1TB) and I also haven't downloaded RAID drivers for AMD, but I didn't think that was necessary/involved with this issue. It seems to get better with everything I do for just a little while, then boom it comes back full force. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

I didn't have this problem before with my Ryzen 7 2700X, but ever since i installed the Ryzen 5 3600 it has been bugging me.
I will let you know if i find a fix, and hope you will do the same

Hey Incase this helps, i solved the problem with bios update.
I originally didn't think much of it, as i was only one version behind, but it seemed to fix the problem

I updated 25 versions (from F11 to F36 on X570 UD) and it went away for a little while, but still came back. Its kinda weird because it seems to depend on the instance. Sometimes I will turn on the computer and it won't have any popping (after doing all the fixes) and sometimes ill hop on and it will immediately start happening. Although I didn't try the experimental versions... Does anyone think thats worth trying?

I wouldn't, something else you can try though, that has helped me a bit before updating bios.
Go to overclocking settings on your cpu, I'm currently running these settings completely stable
Set Clock Ratio to 4.1Ghz (4100Mhz)
Set Vcore to 1.32V
and SOC to 1.15

Yea I came across a reddit thread where someone details a bunch of OC settings to try as it fixed their popping/crackling. So I'm currently trying right now

Spent this morning trying different OC settings, used them all at once, one by one, none made a difference :/
