I've noticed that occasionally I'll update the app and it'll wipe out my previous version. But it doesn't always happen, so I don't know what to do.

For example, I installed _v_2_11_4_ and renamed it to _v_2_11_4_SysnativeBSODApps.exe
When I installed _v_2_11_8 it removed _v_2_11_4_SysnativeBSODApps.exe and replaced it with SysnativeBSODApps.exe

It didn't do this from _v_2_10_nnn, but has done it at least one other time that I can recall. Is this behavior by design?

FYI - I install the app by double-clicking on the .exe inside the zip archive without extracting it.

Also, I've never tried it, but can I go back to a previous version (such as described above) without having to reinstall?

TIA

Different versions have different license files. They are not backwards or forwards compatible with the current license.

I am working on the behavior you describe to fix it. There are a lot of problems with the current version of the apps. The parallelization and installation routines are wreaking havoc with users; I may have moved to the parallel threading too soon. The .NET .exe installer method was also a bit premature. I really need to iron these bugs out over the next couple days or revert to an older version and release that with some fixes.

I'm doing my best to sort these quickly, but I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed with bugfixes, TSF, my PhD thesis, etc. at the moment. I am saying this not just for your benefit, but for others who will hopefully read this and know I am working hard to remedy it.

Mike, Mike, Mike <sigh!!!>. How many times do we have to tell you - school comes first!
If you're not happy with the current version (I am) tell us what to move back to in case of problems (some developers call it the "latest stable version".
Then we'll wait until you have time.

We all know that you're working hard at this - and we do appreciate it. But we also know that you have other priorities - and we respect that.
We'll be patient - I promise! If someone isn't being patient, please let me know so I can discuss it with them using my Sergeant Major persona :0)

Alternatively, you can remove the latest versions and restart at an earlier one. Imagine it being that the last few releases were a dead end - so you go backtrack to an earlier version and take a different path.

Installation issues should now be fixed. I also fixed a few other major bugs in the apps and in my logic for my PhD research. A productive day! :-}

Good for you! I'm glad that you've fixed the bugs, but I'm really happy that you're making progress on your PhD research!
Thanks for letting us know!
