Trying to install KB4467697

'Downloading updates' stalls at 5% for hours

Eventually errors with 80073712

sfc /scannow results:
"Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations."

dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth results:

"Error 0x800f0906 - The source fiels could not be downloaded...."

sfcfix.exe results:
same dism error, but "no corruptions have been detected on this computer" at the end..

Installing the update manually fails with error 0x80073712 in the event viewer.

Required files attached. Any help is GREATLY appreciated.

thanks

I only have one update that I need to install and its the KB4467697. (its the only one being detected as well) I did run the sfcfix tool before I started this thread. And most of the time it would say corruption repaired. Then when I try to download this update it throws the 80073712 error every time. Its like something keeps putting it into a corrupted state. I don't get it.

Step#1 - FRST Fix
NOTICE: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Running this on another machine may cause damage to your operating system
1. Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.
Note: You need to run the 64-bit Version so please ensure you download that one.
2. Download attached file and save it to the Desktop.
Note. It's important that both files, FRST64 and fixlist.txt are in the same location or the fix will not work (in this case...the desktop).
3. Run FRST64 by Right-Clicking on the file and choosing Run as administrator.
4. Press the Fix button just once and wait. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
5. When finished FRST64 will generate a log on the Desktop (Fixlog.txt). Please post the contents of it in your reply.
6. Try updates and if any fail, attach CBS.log.

SO. Strange turn of events. I ran the latest fix, and decided to close the windows update screen and re-scan for updates instead of just clicking 'try again'
This time I was presented with 6 updates, and KB4467697 was no longer in the list. Keep in mind that was the November Security rollup. I think it got replaced by the December Security update on patch tuesday. I'm now downloading those 6 updates. I'll let you know how it goes.
Thanks
