[SOLVED] [7SP1 Pro x64] Can't install Windows Update Agent 7.6.7600.320

Windows Update requires me to update to Windows Update Agent 7.6.7600.320 before installing any other update, but it fails to do so. If I try it just restarts and gives me error 800F081F. I tried to update using a stand-alone package but it gives me error 0x80070002. I followed these instructions but it didn't help. I don't know if it matters, but in the past i had huge problems installing SP1 and I don't remember how I fixed it, maybe it was installed incorrectly. Thank you in advance.

As I said in my first post, I already tried updating using a standalone package. I tried again and it still gives me error 0x80070002. I already tried following these instructions from Microsoft but nothing changed.

I ran SFC (sfc /scannow, right?), no corruptions were detected.
I don't think I am interested in upgrading since the machine is a quite old laptop and the manufacturer says that Windows 10 isn't supported.

I'm afraid your HDD is damaged and not reliable. You should get it replaced as soon as possible. I cannot guarantee that it was not the root cause of your issues.
