First thing you should do is remove the overclock while troubleshooting.
There is only a single .dmp in the upload do you have it set to overwrite previous dmp files?

There is not a lot to go on in the one dump, your Audio driver is very old for a Win 8 system

Let's try running driver verifier and see if it will help > https://www.sysnative.com/forums/bs...elated-windows-8-1-8-7-and-windows-vista.html

Firstly thank you for your help Wrench97.

As for the Audio driver I installed the latest version from the proprietors website. The sound card is under a year old, but it was very cheap($35)

The BSEL over clock can not be easily turned off as it is a hardware modification that tricks the mother board into thinking the Standard Xeon CPUs are Extreme Edition Xeon CPUs and ups the front side bus from 1333MHz to 1600MHz, taking the CPUs from 2.33GHz to 2.8GHz. This modification was done at build time over five years ago. Can I please leave the BSEL over clock as is for now? As it will need to go back to the shop to be removed. I'm a full time student and a single dad with two girls 100% care, so money is beyond tight at the moment, hence me reaching out to this forum for help.

I am studying special FX at the moment. I am not overly tech savy and primerialy learn what I need to know to fix any issue on the fly.

Last night I reformatted my samsung SSD 840 pro series 256GB hard drive and did a fresh reinstall of windows 8 from OEM DVD.
I then installed Avast anti virus. It was running fine(20 minutes) until I plugged in the NET and went to upgrade avast to the latest version of the software at which time it BSOD again. Now W8 is unable to do a "automatic repair". I tried to complete a "refresh" but it has a message saying "there was a problem with refreshing your PC. No changes were made". I also tried a "reset" and the message says "there was a problem while resetting your PC". I have also tried changing the "start-up setting" at which time the computer restarts, comes up with the boot options, I select "safe mode" then W8 comes up with the "Diagnosing your PC" window, then it tries to do an "automatic repair" and again it goes to the "Automatic repair couldn't repair your PC" screen were it also says "Log file: E:\Windows\System32\logfiles\Srt\SrtTrial.txt"

I'm really not sure what to do next.

Thank you

Hi Wrench97

I attempted to boot into Safe Mode via the advanced option from the W8 disc. Via changing the "start-up setting" at which time the computer restarts, comes up with the boot options, I select "safe mode" then W8 comes up with the "Diagnosing your PC" window, then it tries to do an "automatic repair" and again it goes to the "Automatic repair couldn't repair your PC" screen were it also says "Log file: E:\Windows\System32\logfiles\Srt\SrtTrial.txt
So it looks like something major has totally broken in windows. I will research how to reformat my HD via command prompt today and do a reinstall of windows 8 again. Next I will make sure my system is not set to "overwrite previous dump file". Next ill run the system and see if it BSOD continually again. I it does I will post the dump files here. Then I will attempt to turn on driver verifier.

Thank you dearly
Steve
