2012 Summer Olympics

Whew! Canada vs U.S. Women's Soccer, what a match!!! Down to the last seconds of the 2nd OT and the U.S. pulled it off. It was quite the "nail-biting match". The Canadian ladies were fantastic and I will cheer for them to win against France for the Bronze but next up, U.S. vs Japan for the Gold medal.

That is just plain rude and uneducated! Then again, it seems that the media is the same all over the world. Even when interviewing a Gold Medal winner, they ask stupid questions. As to disappointed! The darn media should be fawning all over them and congratulating them for their achievement.

I think the medal winners are too elated to be concerned about the questions being fired at them! But I do agree with you. Worse things have come out of these Olympics though, I don't know if this would have reached the news in the US:

Simply disgusting.

Yes, it is. I would think, however, that while at the Olympics (or other major event), teams would be concentrating on mental preparation for their events rather than Twitter. Two athletes expelled for sending offensive tweets after all their training! I think the blackout the women's water polo team decided on makes the most sense.

We have been following the Olympics while we have been on vacation, the best moments so far for me was when Kirani James swapped name tags with fellow Olympian Oscar Pistorius in the 400m Semi's. Wow what a show of respect. If only other members of the human race acted in the same manner...

If only they would Cookieman, the media are the biggest bunch of idiots comments like you must be disappointed or they will be so upset with themselves and some of it coming from former athletes just astounds me or maybe there is a tinge of jealousy with some

Best moment so far was when one of the BBC Scotland commentators, in his heavy Glasvegian accent said after a referee had been having stern words about giving the opponent space "it's like swinging a bat at someone, you need space", before hastily adding "not that I can think of a reason why anyone would want to hit someone with a bat". lol.

Hello who ever you are i must have trained with you. I too trained under Mick Brough and attended the hardcore training events from our club in Top Valley. I'm currious to know who you are and what happened to Mick. I've not seen him for years. I joined mick's club more than 30 years ago and trained for many years along side Bal & Bo, Danny F, louis A, And many more. Great times and great training. I was known as clocko but my real name is Stephen M. Please drop me a message it would be good to catch up and share stories of back in the day and link up with others from that time. Cheers
