Hope there is enough info submitted to figure this out. :)

***EDIT****

I can't attach. Nothing happens after it finishes uploading; "The attached file will be highlighted and have a check mark in the box." Nothing shows up in the box?

Figured out the CBS UL was TOO large and ran the following:

What to do if your CBS logfiles are too large to upload

Hope it's good to be tackled now. :))))

ShooT!!!!!

Please move my thread to the proper forum. Is this possible? :embarrasment5::embarrasment5:

I DL'd the file from the BOT reply but nothing shows up Manage Attachments dialogue box after I ADD it. Still too large?

Copy the file C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log to your Desktop.
Right click on CheckSUR.log and choose Send To -> Compressed (zipped) Folder.

Try attaching CheckSUR.zip. If it is too large, try using OneDrive, DropBox, or SendSpace then share the link :)

Windows Update Package Replacement

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

  1. Please download the attached file, Packs.zip and save this to your Desktop.
  2. Right-click on the file and select Extract All...
  3. Tick the box labelled Show extracted files when complete then click Extract
  4. A window will open showing two folders, Manifests and Packages
  5. Open the Manifests folder and copy the files into the following folder

    C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Winsxs\Manifests

  6. Open the Packages folder and copy the files into the following folder

    C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages

  7. Run the System Update Readiness Tool (SURT) again.
  8. When the SURT finishes installing, copy the following file to your desktop, then send it to a zipped folder and attach it with your reply.

    C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log

View attachment Packs.zip

"6. Open the Packages folder and copy the files into the following folder"

Pop up from Explorer says there is no C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages destination. I manually tried to find it, not there...

Please create the servicing folder in CheckSUR, then copy the packages folder into the servicing folder.

It's seemingly stalled at this point, for something like 30 minutes. I'm continuing to run it until it finishes or you tell me it's broken.

Looks good. Check for Windows Updates again and try to install one.
If it fails, note the error code. If you don't see the error code, go to the update history, right click on the update and choose details.

Well, today's Security Update installed but those 2 Failed ones didn't show up for re-install. Not important or they got fixed too? No longer any Failed Messages on Updates homepage though! :cool3:

Looks like you are good to go :)

If you have any further Windows Update problems post back.
