Tonight I was not able to run your SCFFix as crash thrice (1st offline, 2nd time online, 3rd time tried it offline in safe mode) - see SFCFix.txt attached

But yesterday I did run the Windows sfc and here are the results in file attachment - see SFC log.txt attached
Yesterday after I ran that posted the following on Answers at MS:

Hello,

Have a Win 10 Pro 64 bit

Latest MS Update will not install and get error
2020-05 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1909 for x64-based Systems (KB4556799) – Error 0x800f0900

I have done all the usual troubleshoot stuff and ten tried the 1) and 2) below that I ran in cmd as admin:

1) DISM /Online /Clean-up Image /RestoreHealth – and will not correct itself

PC created DISM log.

I need help to read this DISM log showing repair errors.

Once we can find out what each of these errors means and then translate that in plain English we can then locate where each error is.

We can then go and collect this clean DISM in the other PC I have that I upgraded to Win 10 Pro 64 bit at the same time and is in great condition.

2) sfc /scannow - and will not correct itself.

PC created sfcdetail log.

I need help to read this sfcdetails showing repair errors.

Once we can find out what each of these errors means and then translate that in plain English we can then locate where each error is.

We can then go and collect each one of these (and there are a few) in the other PC I have that I upgraded to Win 10 Pro 64 bit at the same time and is in great condition.

Overview
I am requesting this sort of advanced type of help as MS itself in an article states that good lines can be taken from a good PC which is the case here. That article is at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/929833/use-the-system-file-checker-tool-to-repair-missing-or-corrupted-system and here is the quote from this article:

“Note You may be able to get a known good copy of the system file from another computer that is running the same version of Windows with your computer. You may perform a System File Checker process on that computer to make sure the system file that you intend to copy is a good copy.”

This article explains how to do this, however I can use some guidance. I am able to easily follow your help if explained in steps and in layman terms.

Thank you in advance.

Thanks for that quick reply,
I was not sure if had to upload the CBS or not so here it is.

I also forgot to mention that last night when I ran the SCFFix maybe it did not work because I downloaded it from Softpedia and then I downloaded it from you (I wanted to be sure I had the latest version) so maybe because there are 2 of these on the PC it did not run? I tried to uninstall the Softpedia one that is the same like yours but can't find it anywhere in PC (I even checked inside my RevoUninstaller but not even listed there).

And once again the overall advantage we have here is that I have a similar PC that I use for my work job and both of these ran Win 7 Pro 64 but and both were upgraded to Win 10 Pro 64 bit in Dec 2019 before that Jan deadline (Kind of miss Win 7). So the advantage is the other PC, the work PC, is running great and we can maybe grab the good files from there to correct this PC I am typing on with the bad files.
Thanks.

Thanks.

Please try upgrading to the latest version of Windows. It will be the fastest way:

  1. Download the Media Creation Tool and save this to your desktop. Go ahead and run this as well. Note: Click the Download tool now button when you get to this link.
  2. Accept the License Agreement
  3. Download the ISO file to your desktop.
  4. Double-click on the ISO and then run the setup to try and upgrade your machine.

We want to get the ISO so that you don't have to keep downloading which can take hours.

Hello,
Are you saying that this Windows 10 Pro 64 bit I just upgaded to in Dec is now old and there is a newer version? I did not know that and it's not like announced anywhere.

I can only do this upgrade if it will just overwrite the old Windows 10 without affecting the My Documents, software installed. Even though I have back up copies of the documents in several external drives it is the trouble to have to transfer files back, reinstall all the software all over again.

If I can upgrade without having to transfer data, reinstall all sorts of software then I am fine with it.

Thanks.

Yes, that's correct. You can upgrade just the Windows version without it affecting any of your data. If you wish, I would recommend you wait for about a week and upgrade to the latest release that will be out next week.

That's a great plan,
I will wait for next week for the latest Win 10 upgrade as will need to do this for both PC's I have here.

I was going to tell you that I can only do this on a Sun 24 as Sun and Mon are my days off. So either next Sun 24 or if upgrade not ready then the Mon 25 if have time or the following week like Sun 32, Mon 1 (June).
Okay thanks.

Hello,
So now that the new upgrade is avail I did what you asked of me-that is to downlaod the ISO to the desktop ( Iam assuming th e win 10 upgrade is in there) and then what double click on this and it opens a folder and I guess click on setup?

BTW before I did this I went to Windows Update (screen shot below) of current status, looks like from the windows itself it will not upgrade as clicked on Learn more and just sends me to a page with lots of info and do not know what to select.
Thanks
