Hello! I've been trying everything to avoid reloading Windows on this laptop. Hopefully someone here can help me. I think it comes down to whether or not it's possible to fix the corruption on the attached registry files. From looking at other threads it seems possible, so I thought I'd give it a shot.
Basically VMWare has been causing 0x1000007e on wake up from sleep (intermittently). I didn't figure out what the cause was until after this 0x74 loop happened, so it was left there unfixed. After a boot, my system was acting strange (probably unrelated), so I decided to put the system to sleep. When it woke up, the system blue screened with 0x1000007e. On boot, the 0x74 loop started to happen.
SFC and DISM don't work in my WinRE, so I haven't been able to get very far. I never knew about Microsoft disabling RegBack backups, so that option is gone. I do have a couple month old clone of this drive, but those registry files didn't work. Shadow copy also seems to be disabled too.
In case the corruption is fixable, I included the registry files in the zip. No crash dump was created for 0x74, but I did include the one for 0x1000007e, though I'm not sure that's really important.
Couldn't find any rules against posting external file links (too big), so here they are:
Files.zip
Thank you!
