I hope z3r0 reads this thread and possibly has a change of heart. If he let me back into SF, even after my mistakes, I would be extremely grateful, so much so you wouldn't believe. Feel free to PM z3r0 this, any of you SF members. :)

z3r0 has been reading this at least to some extent...

I doubt sharing those pdf's with us was the primary reason for your banning... I think it was because you were helping us understand what was going on.

I can't say I agree with you pleading to get back in but, if you need anything from here I will support it.

    You are always welcome here

    Re: Banned from z3r010's sites

It seems to me a lot of petty jealousy is the root cause of all the shiznitz. Andy was upset because Griff started a forum of his own. Zero doesn't want other forums linked to nor mentioned. Every forums has its place in the cyber-cosmos. I can't got to TSF, SF, EF, VF, nor here to get say, expert GSkill DRAM advice, I go the the GSkill forum. I go to the Norton community if I have an issue with my Norton product. These other forum admins/owners/mods can't cover it all no matter how many members it has for God's sake. Zero once warned a Norton Guru about even mentioning the Norton community.

It is petty, childish, immature, and just stupid to have so many banned from SF. BSOD analysis is the most under staffed forums around, now what will Zero's forums do when no one answers the requests for help?

    Re: Banned from z3r010's sites

Exactly Britton, that is what I was trying to convey. There are literally only a handful of us BSOD analysts on the net, and only a VERY small part of our community are what I would consider literal experts. What I am trying to say is, it takes a special kind of person to want to spend any of their free time learning how to analyze, teach, solve, and overall deal with blue screens for absolutely zero pay aside from the satisfaction of learning, helping people, the non-monetary forum rewards and Microsoft rewards given you deserve it, etc.

When you literally obliterate half or more of that community from your forum because of some drama, it's unfortunately going to hurt you in the long run. I know for sure I don't want to have all of my hard work wiped away for an unjustifiable reason.

With that being said, I will continue to expand my knowledge everyday and spend time on communities in which my real family resides, appreciates the work I do, and welcomes me with open arms.
LilBambi, Ivan the SoSo and Britton30 say thanks for this.

My points and observations are valid. So too is my disappointment with some member's in this thread. The phrase 'fair weather friend' springs to mind.

I've already mentioned I do not speak for the Admins at SF. I speak for myself. I'm nobodies puppet. I agree with some decisions, whilst disagreeing with others - and I've mentioned I disagreed with some of those decisions.

But I stand by what I've said. I'm also dismayed that this has all occurred. I've watched this unfold with a heavy heart that it has come to this. Some of you I actually once considered as not only true friends, but confidants.

I had good reasons to remain anonymous - but tbh, running around 'unknown' was not really my style. And as far as retributions go, whatever form they take - so be it. I'm both man and adult enough to accept it.

So to put the guessing games at rest - I am Smarteyeball / Patrick.

    Re: Banned from z3r010's sites

This is not the first time John has banned people - nor will it be the last. Reasons are sometimes good - reasons sometimes are based on info that shouldn't apply or be used. Actions show strong biases and emotional reactions - clear expression of ownership powers. I've NEVER seen him reverse a ban - or whatever term he uses to disguise the impact for high volume users where banning can make things look bad (and includes an uncommonly strong defense against returns as aliases - but not an unbreachable defense if needed/wanted though of limited value to anyone who actually wants it in any case). He does change his mind on some things, but I've yet to see it involving banning or when he's become riled up about something (and that sure does seem to apply in this situation to say the least).

I do see why some who are depending on posts there to get or renew an MVP/MCC designation might want to try to get him to reverse his decision if there's no way around it with the MVP/MCC programs or MVP leads (it's not the ban so much as the loss of proven contributions and there may be a way to work that out if John wants to keep his forums part of those programs - but probably not a discussion for users or former users, but between John and the program reps). And no, I don't know how to do it except to contact the applicable program and/or lead and see what can be done. This can't be the first time such things have happened and so they probably can either help or at least explain things. The real criteria for getting or keeping these designations is mostly unknown and I based partially on objective elements but also on subjective factors - so it's hard to tell what they will or won't consider or will or won't do.

    Good luck!

Ok, I've been thinking, where to go now? I don't think I'll be let back into SF so I need somewhere to go. Obviously I'm going to stay here but I also want somewhere with a high volume of traffic. Here is great to learn but to me, there are not that many BSoD threads from new members who need help.

    Do you know anywhere?

Thank you for acting so mature about this Jaidyn

I have seen far too many disputes get caused in communities over the years due to immature actions... One comes to mind right now

@Tekno, TSF is always looking for more analyst. Their staff/team is wonderful... It has it's fair share of cons but it is not my place to talk poorly of them

There are many many more others can provide.

Be sure to keep an eye on us though, traffic here is expected to grow

There are people who genuinely put the work and effort in, then there's the ones with a holier than thou presence and some believe that they're the ones who hold SF up and keep it running.

Sure a few people have been banned from the BSOD team, but more will come. Hell, give me a few weeks and I'll be analysing dumps just as good as the majority that was banned from there.

And for what's been said, this won't be the fall of SF at all. Few years ago back when Antman was banned had a far greater effect on SF. Members like H2SO4 left (not banned, just stopped visiting) who was, in my opinion, one of the most helpful and knowledgeable members SF has had so far.

    Hi,

I don't believe JaidynM meant for his response to be elitist in any way, nor do I think anyone else is meaning to come off that way. I just think everyone's a little hot-headed after the recent events that took place. Regardless, I think what the majority of the analysts are trying to convey is that we all do this voluntarily for no monetary purpose. Not just analysts either, many who provide technical support online for forums and various communities. We do it because we like to learn, help, teach, etc. There aren't many people in this world like that, so to toss the majority of them away (many many being innocent) essentially is quite a hindrance if you ask me. Why do you think SF's BSOD section was as popular as it was? Because you had people like that, who most are now banned, keeping it that great place that people loved to go to for help because of the invaluable assistance.

I also hate to rain on your parade, but analyzing BSOD's like everything else is an art and a hobby you have to want more than just something you can become skilled in just a few weeks. I've been reading and learning for almost a year now and my skill doesn't even get close to some of the analysts out there like Vir Gnarus, jcgriff2, etc.

So yeah, there you have it.
Thank you Patrick for having the testicular fortitude to give your true identity.

Your opinion is respected and understood. You should have no fear of retribution, here or anywhere else, for that matter.

As far as my previous statement, I'm sure you can understand why it was so frustrating to contend with statements from an unknown individual. I hold no ill feelings toward you, but I will not apologize for what I said.

    Re: Banned from z3r010's sites

Other members at Seven Forums have, and will, take up most of the slack in the Crashes and Debugging section. They are not out of helpers yet.

But what they have lost is the quality. Sure, they have a bunch of new trainees who probably still use BlueScreenView on the quiet, and may or may not get to a solution eventually through canned speeches left by the experts. But we have the quality.

We have the analysts with the thousands of posts and the years of experience. We have the experts and the tutorials on how to truly analyse a dump file using advanced techniques. We have the tools and the coders to make those tools amazing.

Never forget who we are. We are Sysnative, and we, together, have the people and the burning desire to make this the great forum it ought to be. We have a team here z3r010 could never hope to match, and I personally hope that no one here ever forgets that, no matter what is going on elsewhere. Every one of you is needed. We want every last one of you on our team, because it is combined knowledge above all else which breaks boundaries. And that combined knowledge is here at Sysnative.

I hope that you will all join us here in what is quite possibly the biggest and best BSOD team ever assembled. Here. Not elsewhere, but here, now, and with you.

There comes a point when what has happened in the past has already happened. There is still a lot of cleaning up to be done, and we should salvage as much as we can, right wrongs where possible, and not give up. But we must also look to the future. If there is one thing which z3r010 would hate, one way we can defeat him, it would be to make a success of Sysnative. Put your energies and anger, all the wrongs that have been done to you, into making a huge success of Sysnative.

writhziden and I are working together to make the best automated BSOD analysis tool ever made, and on new DebugEngine scripts and extensions the likes of which you may have never seen in automated analysis before. We will be doing everything we can, with the experiences and feedback of you most valued of analysts to make our tools better, and better, and better. The administrators here are working to make the website better in every way. Everyone is sharing their knowledge and teaching others wherever they can. The analysts are helping our OPs. It is a dream come true for me.

Help us make Sysnative the huge success it will become. Where appropriate, spread the word, show friends. Ask questions, and supply answers to others where you can. Think what we can become, what we already are. And this is all down to you, the incredible, and most valued, team we have here.

    Sysnative.

While I cannot condone the way this was handled, I sincerely hope that those of you who are able to continue helping there do so. Put aside forum politics. Put aside rivalries. The reason we do what we do is not for financial gain or recognition but because we enjoy helping others.

    Re: Banned from z3r010's sites

    Hello,

Honestly I was trying to stay out of this for awhile, but I would like to post my opinion if that is okay.

I would like to say, that niemiro, you are a really good speaker.

But anyways..I think this whole thing going on is a load of BS. I mean like a truck load. I started over there at SF in 2010, and just became active again. I am a beginner BSOD analyzer, and everything I have learned i have to say thanks to writhziden. He taught me everything I know, besides a couple of people over at SF. But Mike is like a mentor to me. Yes SF is low on BSOD analyzers, I have been there trying to keep up the work load. It's hard.

But besides that. I am only doing this help for the same reasons as anyone else is. To help, teach, and learn. I have learned so much from everyone. I believe that if you feel good about what you are doing, it should not matter what website you are at. I will be happy to be here and help you guys, and I don't mind being over at SF helping them either. But right now it is all drama. And I don't like drama, i left drama when i graduated from high school last month.. Some people got hot headed and did/said some things out of anger. Which it happens. I have done it in Jui-jitsu before.

I honestly suck at saying what is on my mind. But everyone here are great people, and people at SF are also great people. So in my mind, it's all even.
