I know what you mean, I was stuck with this speed for the past 6 years:
It got so tedious having files downloading at 300kbps max; I never realised how much more efficient I'd be with a faster connection. Watching an hour long video on iPlayer actually took one hour, rather than one hour of watching and god knows how long buffering!
Quite a difference, you could say
Because the fibre optic technology was developed in Southampton, they're very keen to flaunt anything to do with it and a whole section of a presentation in freshers was entirely on fibre optics
They're aiming to roll out the next generation of fibre optic cables in the next few years and they claimed it would bring 100x speed increases, so that should be worth waiting for!
