@Maxstar I did have a Lian Li AIO cooler that died. the CPU did hit 99°C and shut the system down. but I replaced it with this Kraken and ran for a month or so without any issues. Do you think the LIAN LI failure and over heat could have cause permanent damage to the CPU?

My hardware knowledge is a bit rusty nowadays, but an i9 14900K can run very hot as it seems, even with liquid coolers. However, overheating can be a problem and particularly when voltages are not set correctly? Maybe you can provide more information (screenshots) of the XMP profiles and how they are currently set.

Not having an ASUS mobo I might be wrong, but this is what I found online regarding the voltages which you can find in your BIOS.

When you're in the BIOS, go in the advanced mode so you can check the right pane, which is the hardware monitor, that should list the relevant voltages (e.g. 3.3v, 5v, 12v, core voltage and memory voltage)

@Maxstar and @axe0 , This is what I found with regard to voltages and XMP Profiles. I am in over my head when it comes to understanding what these mean. So I am trusting y'all to have some insight.

SIDE NOTE:: I really appreciate the time and effort you guys put into to helping with these issues. I am in the last month of the last semester of my degree program, and I depend heavily on my PC for my class work. I would be stuck without your help. So thank you. It is greatly appreciated.

I stopped using/troubleshooting the PC for a few hours to see what it would do just sitting there idle. Attached is the Sysnative File Collection from that time. Seems to be the same issue causing every BSOD.

I ran the Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool, on the Burn-In Config. It ran for 3 hours with the following results.

I found it interesting that there were no crashes during the test. The only thing that was different, was I set my display settings to mirror instead of extend, because I was using my main monitor with my laptop via HDMI and I left the PC plugged in via DisplayPort and I didn't want my mouse going out of sight if I did any work on the PC.

There do seem to be a lot of issues with the i9-14900K specifically, a web search reveals lots of hits - in the Intel forums too. Take a look at these threads...

Also on Linux too...
i9-14900k is unstable at stock settings.

There are a couple of workarounds suggested here...

Thank you for the useful links. I seem to have found some stability. I will run with it as is for now, if I do not have any issues. I will report back with the changes I settled on.

If it does stop crashing, do I need to worry about the corrupt system files found by SFC /scannow and by DISM?

If SFC and/or DISM reported that any corruptions found were fixed, then no. Otherwise post the log files.

I am still getting completely random app crashes. Upgrade in place crashes before it can finish.

The most recent dumps all still look very much like a hardware issue and you've already tested your RAM so it's less likely to be that. I do rather think this is a CPU issue, especially given what you said in post #21 here...

A stable and properly cooled CPU should be able to run all three Prime95 tests pretty much indefinitely. The small FFT test is the one that mostly stresses the CPU, so given what we know already and what Prime95 is saying I think a bad CPU is the most likely culprit here. I suggest you download and run the Intel Processor Diagnostic tool and see what that says about your CPU. If you don't get a clean pass there then I think it's terminal.

How often did it shut down for thermals? If it was just the once I'd expect you to be OK, although there are never any guarantees, but if it's shutdown for thermals several times then that may have damaged the CPU.

After tweaking cpu settings in the bios per the guide I found from one of the links you sent. I can now run prime95 no problem. The Intel processor diag tool gives a clean pass. Every diag test and tool I run says it's not a ram or CPU issue now. I am not getting any BSOD now.

It shutdown for thermal one time, then refused to boot because it would auto spike to 99° C.

I think now that it's not blue screening and the CPU seems stable-ish, I'll run Verifier again and see if it acts any different.

Just so we are on the same page, my current issue is apps and services continue to crash. No more BSODs.

Are these crashes of the whole system or just a crash to the desktop of specific apps?

Just applications crashing to desktop. I just tried verifier again, it caused a BSOD Loop. The dmp file dated 4/6/2024 captured the IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL errors that were happening at boot with verifier on. Without verifier, no BSOD.

I believe you are correct about it being a hardware issue. But I do not believe it was caused by any event. There are TONS of complaints exactly like mine, and the general consensus is if you turn off hyper threading and turbo boost in the BIOS you can gain consistent stability. I have done this now, and will see how it acts. The cause is, in my mind, a quality control issue at intel. The 13900k had the same issues. and Intel admitted there are known issues with the memory controller on some of the high end CPUs. If I do not see anymore stability issues, I attempt to have them RMA it. It is very frustrating.

That's exactly what my research showed and why I posted about it earlier, the i9-13900K and i9-14900K CPUs seem to suffer from the same flaw. If you're not already on the Intel forums I would join and add your voice to the many complaints, and to ensure that you're in line for any potential fix or replacement.

It would be handy for others to leave this thread open and if you'd be kind enough to let us know how things go that would be really helpful.

I just created an account on the intel forum. Do you know of a specific topic or area I should post about this? And how I "ensure that you're in line for any potential fix or replacement."

FYI: I have been running for a couple days now with no issues, with hyperthreading and turbo boost turned off. Still cannot repair my Windows System files, but . . . Maybe 1 thing at a time.

Yes, please, lets leave it open, anything that brings awareness to the issue and helps others.

I did tons of research before reaching out to you guys. The answers I found based on the symptoms I experienced pointed me in the wrong direction as far as identifying the root cause. Without your help, following your links, and running full steam down the rabbit whole of related links, I'm not sure I would have found the articles that let me to decent stability, albeit degraded performance.
