Be careful with Window Defender

I am a newbie to fix the blue screen problem of my Windows 10 Pro. I built a brand new PC for my music compositions. At the very beginning of using my PC, everything looked fine. Just after I updated my OS to Windows 10 pro May 2004, the blue screen started appeared more and more often. I rolled OS back to the old edition of Windows 10 Pro, but the nightmare didn't stop for me. I updated all possible drivers and checked all possible hardware failures wirhout any clue. Suddenly, I noticed one of my apps behaved like a malware due to the report of my antiviral software. I turned off that antiviral software, but it didn't solve the blue screen problem. I doubted that Window Defender did the same thing as my antiviral software did. So, I turn off that defender, too. Since then, everything looked perfect again.

Except you probably actually have malware or a program that needs to be updated or uninstalled.
Running without any anti -virus software is not a good solution.

In addition to what @Wrench97 has said, you did not report whether there were any issues with the update to Windows 10, Version 2004.

I have known of a couple of machines (laptops) that were not routinely given a "canned air dusting" to clean their fans and heatsinks that overheated during the install, which then ended up rolling back. But subsequent attempts to update did work, but resulted in BSODs.

The only two things I've seen work in if this is the case is either restoring from a good full system image backup of 1909, then applying the update again, or biting the bullet and using one of the following two methods to do a completely clean reinstall:

Doing a Completely Clean (Re)install of Windows 10 Using Media Creation Tool to Fetch the Win10 ISO File

Doing a Completely Clean (Re)install of Windows 10 Using Media Creation Tool to Create Bootable Win10 Install Media on a USB Thumb Drive

It is insanity to run a Windows system without a security suite, and Windows Defender as implemented under Windows 8.1 and 10 is a top-flight product.

So in other words, you disabled the warning buzzer, then you disabled the warning light and now you are happy you are not getting any warnings! Ummm, doesn't work that way.

Personally, it makes me wonder why you singled out Windows Defender? Why didn't you say to watch out for that other antiviral too?

Contrary to what many seem to believe, Windows Defender is a very good antimalware solution. Not only is it very capable of detecting and preventing malware from getting on our systems, it also has an excellent false positive rate too. This means it very rarely reports malware when there is none.
