Devs have already started work on new Start menus
Windows 10 will finally bring back the Start menu, after approximately three years of struggle and criticism coming from users who couldn't figure out an easy way to work on their computers without such a feature.
However, Microsoft decided that, together with the operating system as a whole, the Start menu also needs to be revamped, so the version we'll get in Windows 10 will come with live tiles, new options, a different design, and features that make it look fresh.
And yet, third-party developers have already started work on their own Start menu apps, trying to offer an alternative to those who don't like the new version in Windows 10.
Living proof is Start10, a
Start menu app created by Stardock and which brings options such as the Windows 7 design, transparency, and a skinable Start button.
