Can't connect to my Dlink Wifi Camera, on desktop

I got a Dlink DCS-5030L, and it's set up properly. I can view the camera from the Dlink Ap on my phone, but the website wont let me. It worked on the mydlink.com at first, and said I needed to update the firmware, which I did. Then from that point on it keeps saying "Please check your network connection or privacy settings." I even tried turning off Windows Firewall, and same thing. Tried with Firefox, and it claimed firefox was not a supported browser, despite Firefox being up to date. Then I tried via I.E and same thing.. Refuses to connect to the camera.

I should add I'm currently on a Fresh Copy of Windows 10 Fall Creators update. It's maybe 2 months the install. I'm thinking maybe there is a problem with the dlink website, vs my computer. Suggestions ??

Re: Can't connect to my Dlink Wifi Camera, on desktop

I should add that I put a Micro SD card in it, formated to NTFS and now windows can't read the card. Not even my camera can read it.. When I plug the card in, Windows is very very slow to respond. Soon as I take the card out, Windows works normally again.I think this Wifi Camera, basically destroyed my SD card on me...

Is this camera new? Have you contacted DLink support?

When I look at the specs and features of that device, there is no mention of Windows or PC support. It only says,
View on your iPhone, iPad, Android device or Windows phone with the mydlink Lite app

The Camera is brand new and the tech support, couldn't figure out why I was not able to connect to it, via the dlink portal. I can however connect to it, via the camera's IP. From the looks of things, the settings and such on the browser portal are not much different than through the phone AP. You can connect to the camera via mydlink. It see's that I have a camera, but keeps saying "Please check your network connection or privacy settings."

And you ran the installation wizard on your PC?

Do you have another PC/notebook you can try it on?

I sure did, and it had zero problem detecting my camera. I'm going to try and see if I can get a friend I trust, that can attempt to connect to the camera via the website portal.

I would be curious if another computer on your network can connect. As for your friend, you should be able to change the password after finished testing.

Re: Can't connect to my Dlink Wifi Camera, on desktop

I got my friend to try it and it worked for him in I.E, so I tried it again in I.E but waited a little longer and eventually it connected. It seems it only likes I.E and not Chrome.. Strange.

At least you know it works. You might see if Firefox or PaleMoon can access it.

Re: Can't connect to my Dlink Wifi Camera, on desktop

I tried Firefox, and it tells me it's an unsupported browser.

Edit: Tried Palemoon, and it works with it. Thanks for the suggestion, never heard of Palemoon before.

Re: Can't connect to my Dlink Wifi Camera, on desktop

Seems I'm not the only one who can't acess the portal via FF. I noticed this news release

Notice: mydlink portal is not working with Firefox 52

    2017/03/14 00:00
Due to Firefox 52 drops support for Netscape Plugin API (NPAPI). Plugins as mydlink plugin, Silverlight, Java and Acrobat are no longer supported. Firefox users may download and install Firefox 52 ESR (Extended Support Release) which still support mydlink plugin. For more information, please refer to mydlink.

Re: Can't connect to my Dlink Wifi Camera, on desktop

I run FF ESR v 52. Support for that will end at the end of August so installing that would only be a fix for a few months. Then ESR will move up to v 60 and you'd have the same problem as you do on the Quantum version.
