Hi SM, yes of course that's the last option. But I'm curious, with many forums recommending the use of "forfiles…" to remove IE, there's no one but me having this problem. It's almost always that if I have an issue, someone on the Internet already had it and some forum already provide solution.

Hi SM, it began after running below command to manually remove IE11 (because it's always failed to update): FORFILES /P %WINDIR%\servicing\Packages /M Microsoft-Windows-InternetExplorer-*11.*.mum /c "cmd /c echo Uninstalling package @fname && start /w pkgmgr /up:@fname /norestart"

I would like to add info that this error happened on computers with updated (not base version, higher than 11.0.9600.16428) IE 11 after removing it using forfiles… command. The error didn't happen on a computer with a base IE 11 version (11.0.9600.16428), I could remove and reinstall IE 11...
