I hope I'm not imagining this.. but wow I think the problem resolved itself? Some big update came along and I kept installing it and then eventually it somehow ended up installing KB5013943... ' Thank you so so much for all your help in the past couple of months wow.

When you 'keep personal files and apps'... are ALL my windows settings, app settings, data, desktop layout, etc. preserved?
