I hope I did this OK. The exact file names you indicated would appear on my desktop did not. one was created with .txt at the end. I am pretty sure I found what you require and have them below. I have run sfc /scannow a few times before i came here for help when it did not fix the problem. The...

I am leaving in about 45 minutes for my bi=weekly poker game in town (1 hr drive). I will do all of the above tomorrow morning and post the results. Thanks for your help with this.

@softwaremaniac You just made my day week and month. While I have owned a PC since 1988 (not the same one), I am not at all digitally savvy. So I was overjoyed to be sent here for help and happy to see I may get it. This is actually my first serious issue in all those decades.
