Corrine and all, I did a restore to where it was working then went directly to NVidia drivers official site and download the latest version which when rebooted everything worked perfectly. The real test is to see how it opens up tomorrow. So my question is ...... How do I rep myself...

Is my Nvidia GeForce 8500GT going bad?

The last 3 days when I booted up my display showed 800x600 so I went to Device Manager and saw yield sign under Display Adapter. Uninstalled it and did a recovery to earlier date which worked. Now today when I signed in it did the same thing. Showed a code 43 error. Is the card going bye bye...

Monitor Display Problem

Problem solved. Went into Device Manager and found Code 43 in the display. Uninstalled driver/rebooted/went to Nvidia and downloaded and installed it/rebooted and display worked properly. Checked DM again and the yield sign is gone and resolutions are correct. The temps were all good from the...

Monitor Display Problem

The last few days, after having computer on for 5 hours or so, the screen goes blank and shuts down. When I restart it the screen resolution is way lower than it should be at 1920x1200 for a 24" screen. The display is almost like it is in safe mode but wasn't boot up that way nor show safe mode...

Windows Updates won't install. I have tried everything!

Just a thought...What would happen if you uninstall the last months of updates? Or even go back to November when you computer was working. Let someone else chime in before doing this because I was just a thought. My thinking(which is a rarity) if the updates are the problem then uninstall them...

Windows Updates won't install. I have tried everything!

Have you tried a restore back to where everything was working? Then posts what updates are waiting to be installed. Don't install them just send us the list to be updated. I am running 7 OS Home Edition and so far(knock on wood) everything has gone smooth as silk. Dennis

Windows Updates won't install. I have tried everything!

Have you tried doing a full scan using SuperAntiSpyware or MBAM? I have found (IMHO) that when updates show up I always download and install the smaller files first then take on the bigger ones last. Even though you may have to restart it several times this method has worked without any hitches...
