Thank you. That seems to have fixed it. At first it didn't but a couple of reboots later and Windows 7 is now pulling new updates. Much appreciated.

Thank you for the quick detailed response. I followed the steps and deleted the key. However I still get the same message when trying to update. The key itself is non existent. I've restarted and re-ran the script. Same error. See attached image which might help. Thank you.

Hi, Thank you for replying. Yes - I've used the sfcfix tool and the script to upload the log to the servers. I should've been clearer. Everytime I try and initiate an update, I just see the "Windows can't update important files and services while the system is using them. Save any open files...
