[SOLVED] BSOD with 0x116 error - Windows 7 SP1 x64

Doesn't seem to be much of a performance hit...according to Windows UEI, I'm still getting the same value for my video subsystem as before... One minor additional data point...It runs just fine (i.e.: it resumes without issue) on Windows 10 Tech Preview without the underclocking... Again...

Would it make sense to swap out display drivers or maybe get a different video module. This laptop has 2 Nvidia and one ATI video modules available that I might be able to get off eBay. Or if you think it might be the card, I can get another one the same as the one I have...The laptop did fine...

I'm back...it Bug-Checked when I resumed from Hibernation without cooler, with ESET. I'm wondering if there's something wrong with the resume from sleep/hibernation logic itself since I've never gotten a bug-check while active nor when doing a cold-startup of windows, only when resuming...

The bug check has only happened on resume from sleep or hibernation. The only reason I use hibernation is so my laptop cooler (powered by USB port) will not run 24/7. In hibernation it shuts off, in sleep it doesn't. Doesn't seem to matter the duration of sleep/hibernation. This morning...

I guess you're probably right...I'm just so used to Hardware (solid state anyway) working "forever" and when it goes bad I find it hard to believe. Also, I've had a couple of instances where it wasn't the HW but a obscure bug in SW that caused it... I'll look for a replacement to see if it's...

Couple of more data points...Resume after over-night sleep/hibernate was normal(:thumbsup2:YaaaY). Found and downloaded a clean copy of GPU Meter and Core Temp and installed both. Running a movie (my most intensive use for this PC), temps are within normal range (CPU's are 50-55c and GPU is...

Hi Patrick, Thanks for the QUICK response...I've downloaded and run the McAfee removal tool. Rebooted and tried a (short) sleep cycle and it didn't BSOD. Not sure if that means anything since it only does it 3 out of 4 times... Will repeat over the next couple of hours and in the AM and let...
