I think that's exactly what had happened: The system crashed during an update, then it seemingly repaired itself but was unable to install the next update. But now it just installed KB4503292 without any problem, so it seems to be fine so far. You may mark this thread as solved. I thank you...

Great, that worked! Thank you very much! There are two other updates available now (apart from the "preview" ones): For the X-Box controller and for the acer display. Is it advisable to install them, too? Do you think there will be problems with the system updates in the future?
