Hi, THANK YOU SO MUCH for all your efforts, but I just spoke with my friend and at this point he would prefer I do a factory refresh on this PC and then just reinstall the few programs he currently uses. This is a secondary PC for use in his workshop and he'd rather not be worrying about hidden...

I renamed those two log files so new ones would be created, then ran the update from the MSU: windows6.1-kb4103718-x64_c051268978faef39e21863a95ea2452ecbc0936d.msu It is hung right now, so I copied the logs to another folder and uploaded:

Event Viewer logs (Application and System) zipped: FYI, the update was still hung, so I clicked "Cancel" and now it is hung at "Canceling updates... ". I exported the Event Viewer logs with it still hung rather than rebooting the computer and then exporting. Thanks!

Yes, the two most recent (failed) attempts to install a monthly rollup were the June update. I should mention in case I haven't, that other updates do install successfully: Office, Malicious Software Removal Tool, there may have been a .NET update a while back. It is just the Monthly Rollups...

SeaTools for Dos v2.23 does not find the Seagate ST31000524AS 1TB drive, but it still boots to Windows!
